Favorite all around Scotch

I don't drink booze anymore, and when I drank I couldn't afford a drinkable scotch. Right now, I'd give my eye teeth to taste test a dozen or two of those BEEEEEUUUUUTEEEEFULLL whiskys with one of those Romeo y Julietas!

Thanks to Cobalt, I picked these up last night!

The nose on the Jura belies the palate; it tastes nothing like it smells IMO. To me, it smells almost like a bourbon, but when it hits your tongue, there's no doubt it's a Scotch! As Cobalt said, it drinks really easy, and is right up there with a MacAllan 12 for me in that regard, but a little smoother and about $10-$15 less per bottle.

Been wanting to try that Oban Little Bay too, and they had it for the cheapest I've seen it locally, so couldn't pass it up. Also VERY good! :D

I knew you would like it. Sorry I missed this. I just had the superstition by jura and it is also great for the money. Totally different than the 10. They don't even taste like they came from jura.

I also had this, the other day and a scotch tasting event, and I had to get a bottle. It is amazing and one of the best 18 year scotches I have had. For about $120 ish.

All of these are very nice indeed. I have had most if not all of them at one time or the other. Lozdesign7, if you like the Nectar dor, look for the Astar Glenmo, exquisite example of the Glenmo style.
I have to say, my all time favorite go to Scotch is Laphhroaig cask strength 10, even though I pretty much love all Islay whiskey. I find Islays hit a best aged spot a bit earlier than some single malts. I have had Laphroaigs out to 30 years, and the ten is my fave.
A bottle of Laphroaig and a bottle of Wild Turkey, and I am good.

No worries Cobalt, we can't see every post on here, lol. ;)

If I hadn't spotted that Oban Little Bay, I would have bought the Superstition too. $120 isn't bad for an 18 yo, especially if it's that good. Will have to keep that one in mind for another time.

I love the Talisker too... been around the distillery once or thrice, after running (I wish, more like crawling) up and down the Cuillins.

My younger days were spent mostly drinking 18yo Macallan.

At the moment, if I were to pick one, it would probably be the 18yo Glenmorangie. While I pick up the occasional 'other', that's my usual go-to favourite.

I'd have to vote for Sean Connery. Aye, there's a Scotch ye can depend upon...😉

It varies from time to time, when I want to drink to forget, JW black. When I want to smoke a cigar (still got a few excellent Alec Baldwin Prensado) I got for more peat, so Anything from Islay. Otherwise, I drink Don Julio anejo because, Tequila

Glenmorangie is currently my favorite go to. Just picked this up yesterday. Lasanta alongside my Rike Knife 1508s.
