Favorite American Made Production Knives

Some great looking brands out there. Thanks for the replies. It looks like there's some strong interest in ZT and the Spyderco Manix(s) which I'd both really like to try out. I'm also interested the Southern Grind Bad Monkey. Does anyone have experience with their knives?

Please research the issue for yourself. Exploitation of workers with poor labor conditions is the norm and not the exception in developing world factories. I acknowledge the "ingrained in the culture" comment comes off poorly. I'm referring to factory labor culture only and not the culture of the general populace. Multiple reliable sources such as the BBC and Guardian describe a "culture" of sub standard working conditions in Chinese factories. I readily acknowledge factories within any country can be ethically managed and I would not discourage support for those specific manufacturers. I'm not racist, I support every cause for racial and ethnic equality. This is not an issue of race or ethnicity. Being an informed consumer is not being racist. I don't want to shame anyone from buying a knife of any origin but I do personally take more satisfaction in supporting jobs within my country of residence knowing employees are being treated fairly. I also hope those factories I choose to support within the USA employ an ethnically diverse workforce. I know its a sensitive subject. Lets all be respectful. I have nothing against the citizens of any nation.

You are generalizing all of East Asia in your original statement. Do you think Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea fit the generalization?

I might also add... I have purchased Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Swedish, Russian, Kenyan, French, and Taiwanese knives. However, the more I read about manufacturing jobs leaving my country and about poor labor conditions in certain areas of the world, the more I want to support local manufacturers. If my comments make people think about this issue then good.

Great Eastern Cutlery for traditional
Emerson for modern
Busse & kin for fixed

I like many others, but those are my favorite.
