Favorite aspect of Strider knives

Wow, all the nasty little comments that popped into my head when I saw the title are taken already.

Yup. I was going to add my .02 as well, but it's already been covered.

The link that evilgreg posted should be required reading for all BFC members.

blocky, chunky handles with ridiculously over large choils that take up about 1/3rd of their blade space.

I couldn't care less if it's marketed as a unicorn's nail trimmer, or a high speed low drag tactical operator dark thirty tank piercing communist killer. If the design is bad, the design is bad. (for me) if it's good it's good. regardless of marketing.

Poster asked about the knife. My answer, I needed a brute of a tool for duty use and the SMF was it. Over my years I have used(and tried to use) probably a hundred knives. From $50 ones to $750. The Strider is by far the winner. Size, thickness, strength and toughness. It's my backup to my backup.

I like the SmF and SnG.
I like the choil.
I like the look. I like the large pivot and body screws.
I like the ergos on the DGG SnG (the SmF, not as much).
I like the combination of opening hole with the stud behind...almost impossible to fail deployment.

I like the fact that they manage to annoy other people.:D

good one,last line.

I recently sold a SMF and a Sng to a Marine who was going over to be re-deployed in the Sandland. He said he had owned twelve so far, and there wasn't much I could tell him about them. They are good, strong, tactical knives. The SMF was adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps as their official folding knife in 2003.

This is from Wikipedia: "The Strider MARSOC SMF is a framelock folding knife that was specifically developed for Detachment 1, the first SOCOM unit of the United States Marine Corps. The Strider SMF was the first knife issued to an individual Marine Corps unit in over 60 years and the first tactical folder issued within the USMC."

I've owned a lot of Striders: SMF's, Sng's, SJ75's, and PT's. They are good, well-designed, hard-use knives. The Customer Service is great and I've used it...free. There is no need to make this thread a political statement, IMO.

I reckon the folks he car jacked were pretty darned annoyed. That's a good thing because?
BTW, OP hasn't posted any more. What I like best is when one of the Striderites drops in to stir the pot, giving the sack lickers a chance to proclaim their love.

As to this, I like knives, not people (well, some people are okay).
I don't care about old Micky Burger, I care about the knife in my hand.
