no, i dont think he thought that, his deal was, in his mind, he did not consider himself a dealer, only a hobbyist, in his mind a dealer was someone who either supported themselves or had a major % of his income coming from dealing in knives, and he (his family?) owned several restaurants in canton ohio that he managed, which was his major source of income, so even though he owned over $100,000 of knives he just didnt consider himself a dealer, be it right or be it wrong, thats how he thought, and i dont remember the exact details of went happened with him but IIRC it went a little past whether he was a dealer or not, if i could still access search i would look and see exactly what the events were, its been so long i simply dont recall exact details, but IIRC dealing was only part of the equation, & IIRC a lot of the knives he sold were his, he supposedly did a lotta trading/buying/selling at shows and on the net, i dont think he was an actual dealer like say TAD, or NGK, someone like that, now if i'm wrong post a link or something and tell me the story, i'm all ears, like i said its been a few yrs and believe it or not i have had quite a lot go on in my life since then and jack being a dealer or not isnt one of the more important issues in my life lol.
and hey i'm not defending him, he's perfectly able to do that himself given a chance, i'm just saying how i remember things.
and he wasnt the first, nor last person to to try and dodge dealer fees on this forum, i would wager that more than one person is doing the exact same thing now, not that its right to do that, its just human nature to try and avoid paying certain fees/taxes/etc,
and who knows if he told me the whole story,
