Favorite blade shape

For use: Full-flat-grind upswept sheepsfoot. That slight amount of belly makes a big difference.

For looking at: Saber-ground clip point with a curved and beveled swedge.

I like blade shaped blades. I like to have the best shape for the task planned. Sometimes I've got an external factor that has to be accounted for. So as long as the blade shape matches the handle ergonomics and matches with the task at hand, that's all I need. In general I don't find recurves helpful unless we are talking a fillet knife, and they add a bit of difficulty to sharpening. For EDC I then to sheepsfoot styles just due to the nature of my work.

I like the Brad Zinker Urban Trapper clip point.
The Case Trapper Clip point has the whole blade tipped down a touch and I like that blade orientation even more.
Also I love the blade shape and length of my Full Flat Ground Cold Steel Ti Lite IV which is a spear point. I have a photo with all of them together but haven't found it yet.

I really like the symmetrical outline and the centering of the point on the spear point. Drop point is a close second because its such a useful design.

As far as appearance goes, I like a well made double edged dagger or a nice clip point. Neither are optimal for my everyday uses, though.

Drop point for everyday use.

Clip points for me. And i like the non aggressive clips, to where it is almost like a drop point.

A couple of months ago I would have said a drop point was my favorite blade shape. Since then I got a Laconico Keen and a FFG custom Kephart, both spear points. It's now a toss up between the two configurations. I'm looking forward to receiving a double convex Kephart.

What both blade shapes accomplish places the tip of the blade along a main axis through the knife, or just above it, only slightly closer to the spine. It allows blind placement of the tip as an extension of the fingers. Especially when choking a smaller blade.

What are your preferences for general use, and why? I want to see what I'm missing.
This needs to be a poll.

For me, I prefer straight backed like puukot and leukut. But I'll carry and use a variety, of course.
