Favorite CRKT tactical knife

Has to be the Large plain edged KFF. Hands Down! Big, tough, cheap - what more could you ask for?

I'll hop in say that I love the Point Guard. The bead blast is my only gripe about the Point Guard. And unlike many, I kind of dig the thumb disk and LAWKS. My wife loves the KFF and carries it everywhere. It's one of the few one-hand openers that she can actually open with one hand.

As for AUS6, I'm not much of a steel snob. I have some great AUS6 knives, which have a razor edge. If you don't believe me, get one of the AUS6 Cold Steel Bird&Trout knives. That knife is positively scary!!! Too bad Cold Steel totally screwed up and put a bead blast finish on a knife meant to clean wet fish. They must have lost their minds. I also just got in Kershaw Double Cross with AUS6, and it's plenty sharp. I would want a machette made of AUS6, but it's a great steel for small cutting tasks.

You think we won't anyway? :)

It's good to see that New York is well accounted for on BladeForums. I'm in Columbia County myself...... smack dab in the middle of nowhere.

Great. Now I've got to stay up all night re-coating my bedroom walls with reflective metallic paint.

No, we usualy come up the plumbing. Just flush every toilet in your house every 5 minutes, that will slow us down. The only way to stop us is to send knives to us :)

I am looking forward to the all aluminum large KFF. Anyone know when it is coming out? It is suppose to be light weight. This will be awesome.

I own a large KFF and a small KFF. When I got them I immediately took the thumbstuds out and ground some big "Spydie" holes in their place. I love Spyderco knives, so I thought this made a great addition to the CRKT. Pat Crawford does a custom KFF with the Spyderhole option. Here is a pic of them and my latest CRKT purchase:

This is my latest. Ryan 7. I immediately took the thumbstud out when I got it and the hole in the blade is perfect.

In my opinion, CRKT is the best bang for the buck! You simply can't go wrong.
michael :D

The custom Ryans have Spyderco type holes don't they? NCBlades, how did you remove the thumb studs on the CRKT Ryan and is the hole large enough for opening with your thumb?

My favorite is the Large Kasper/Crawford combo. edge.I just bought an M-16-13LE and wished I hadn't.It will be going to the next knife show.tom.

Have anyone here handled the Aluminum KFF? Does it have the larks lock? What kind of steel is it? I don't carry my zytel KFF because of the wait but the Aluminum KFF is suppose to be real light weight.

I would have to say the large KFF is my favorite CRKT knife. I just give the thumb stud a good flick, and the blade opens like butta.

I have one of the Apache folders, and it's a nice little knife. Nice, sharp blade; solid feel; no complaints. Picked it up on deep discount from SMKW, too.

Guess Im the Lone Ranger, I like the large Apache.Bought 2 for $20 each, lot of knife for 3 times the price.

I like the small KFF best. The large one is simply too heavy. I also have the small Point Guard, but found that it's thumb disc is too close to the handle for fast opening.
In addition, the stiff KISS is a nice knife, without risk of having the blade close on you ;)
