Favorite EDC Folder Under $40

A nice little No.8 Opinel in olive-wood. I like the looks, performance and price.

My Salt 1 is my only EDC folder thats under $40 (as long as we are not counting SAKs) and i love it:D

ETA: I bought it used for under $40 so im not sure if that counts:)

Kershaw Skyline. Easily one of the best values in folders, and can be had for around $25 if you know where to look. Great utility blade shape, flipper for easy open, liner on one side only to reduce weight, and a fairly good blade steel (Sandvik 13C26 or 14C28N depending on when the one you get was made).

probably the spyderco persistence like that it comes with g10 and overall good build quality

It's made in the USA as well, I believe.

My favorite under $40 EDC. The Persistence.

Sak Alox Cadet, best $18 bucks I ever spent! In fact I may buy another just to have a spare.

I'll also second the Kershaw Skyline. I had one and gave it away, now I'm starting to miss it.

I rotate a couple - but my kershaw Needs Work I picked up for under 40 and is one of my faves.

My SAK Super Tinker.

Why? Because it can do many any task I encounter during the day, from slicing open boxes, food prep, to tightening screws.

OK so I cant kill zombies with it :)

Under $40? Kershaw probably makes the best knives in that price range, unless you would be happy with an Opinel.

Victorinox Explorer Plus

Spyderco Persistence/Tenacious

I have 2 Skylines (one in Damascus), but don't find them easy to flick open. Probably user error.

Victorinox explorer is a great idea... the farmer alox or pioneer also excellent... you just need to bring another small one hand openable folder of your choice for emergency... since most of the task could be handled by Victorinox just fine.

Buck Redpoint - in blue. I like the grip, the button lock and the serrated blade for fishing line. Great knife for under $40.
