FAVORITE edc............There can be only ONE!!!

Spyderco Military PE

Does just about everything I care to do with a folder.

Very light yet strong. Ergonomic, oversized handle. Great steel, holds and edge a long time. The liner lock is rock solid. Very smooth action. Easy to open. Great blade size. Cuts very well. Outstanding knife.

My small lefthanded Sebenza

Why- it is a true lefthander, easy to open, superb clip rides beautifully IWB and cuts like crazy into the bargin :D

It will be even better when I can part with it for a while to get double studs fitted.

The indispensable, mandatory, crucial, obligatory, vital SAK!

Mine's a Victorinox Swisschamp.

How can even non-knuts get by without one?

Bunch of great knives here. These edc's are very prone to change though, especially when you have several that you really like. To show you what I mean, even though the Smith Scimitar is my "favorite" edc, the knife that has been riding in my right front pocket for the past couple of weeks has been the Obenauf framelocker. In fact this morning I picked it up and slid it in my pocket and stuck the Smith back in the closet! What's up with that!!

For daily carry to work and around town, a JW Smith 3.5" MRC(RC?) in S90V and ironwood. Fit, finish, heat treat, ergonomics, all great.

For banging around the house (rennovation), either a 710HS or an AFCK in M2. Same.... heat treat and ergonomics are fine, M2 gets sharp and stays that way about as well as any production folder steel going right now (where is 3V?) and the fit/finish on my two beaters is very good for production and for BM at this price point.

I second the milli... great all around knife, and lightning fast to deploy with a flick of the wrist. The G10 has good traction and comfort. I also like the look of the blade, and the way it cuts.

I plan on continuing to carry this, but I also just ordered a FN F1, and a concealex sheath from Eric at onscene, so that'll surely become my SD EDC.

Well, I started the "other" favorite thread, but my favorite knife that I end up carrying every day is my Umfaan. Like Anthony said, it is really the perfect go-anywhere size.

Dean

But the Benchmade 705 is still my overall favorite :)

The avalanche!!! speed safe is nice, the blade takes a nasty edge, the linerlock is very strong (stiff), and the shape is good, great utility knife and I like the feel of G-10.

large spyderco wegner at least until I can find a plain edge wegner jr . but the large does all I ask of it.

3 blade stockman 3.5 - 4" closed
Indispensible! No job to big or small! A choice of three blades, legal virtually everuwhere and doesn't scare the beejeezus out of sheeple!
I have several makes that I carry as EDCs. Currently a Mooremaker with yellow plastic scales. Also a Kissing Crane with red scales.

If I could get over what I had to pay for it, my absolute EDC would have to be my Mid-Tech Boa, but I can't so...it's gotta be my DDR Bullnose Maxx. Great ergonomics, solid lock-up, and I love the bladeshape. And it looks damn good in Leatherman's sheath.

My all time fave and regular EDC is the Spyderco Starmate. Love the feel/grip/ergonomics of the single liner handle, the forward flowing lines, the blade geometry/grind, the thickness of the blade spine, the milled thumb rest, the shiney shiney steel... Good to see so many Spydies in this thread ;) I could get 2 years for it here in the UK so I make like I give a **** and only carry it indoors or when working. Of course.

My favorite EDC,which was sent back to CRK for a refurbish:( is a large 1997 Sebenza. This knife is a smooth as silk with the best lockup I have seen on a folder. I can't wait to get it back.

Be safe all,
Mike

Before December it would have been hard to choose just one...but now the answer is easy:
The Spyderco plain-edged G-10 Police!

This knife is simply awesome. It's strong and tough, but not too heavy. It has a big handle and a big blade, but it carrys very well and does'nt feel big or bulky in the pocket.
And best of all, it was made for cutting--not prying or chopping or sawing--just cutting!
The thin blade is plenty strong but has a nice fine precise point.

Now if I had to have a blade under 3" for legal purposes, I would go with the Kershaw Scallion.
It's a stout little knife, has a great feel to it, and it is totally cool!
The Scallion is the one I now carry at work (in a hospital).

Good luck,
Allen.

For over 35 years I´ve carried a stockman in one pocket and a SAK on another (or on the belt) today and for some years it is the Victorinox hunter and the Uncle Henry premium stockman.

The SAK is very usefull with all the tools, it doesn´t do much cutting since the stockman takes care of that.

As a new owner of a new Benchmade 921, 940, and 806D2, I haven't really had the chance to make a favorite. I am, however, leaning real hard toward the 921 in S30V. It is the first wharncliffe blade I have ever owned, and I am finding out how useful this blade shape really is. It is razor sharp (that's right, a Benchmade that is razor sharp out of the box!), and it has a very user friendly pointy point. I really love it. Of course for SD or real hard cutting situations, the 806D2 would get the vote;) .

my favorite (and my first) is my MOD trident
even though i can't get the PE to shave, it's still great
feels so good in the hand it's like a part of me
solidly built knife, the scratches on mine just gives it more character :D

BM AFCK, quickest to open, supports multiple grip positions, excellent balance, great for slashing, cutting, in fact my only complaint would be the plastic spacer in the back that keeps disintegrating, I'm still trying to make one out of aluminum, or micarta, to replace it.

No matter what this knife always finds it's way back into my EDC, I have the Al Mar Shrike passaround knife now, so we'll see how it compares, they're both similar in shape and size, so I'll see how they compare.
