Favorite Junk Knife

Mine would have to be my Imperial slippies, the Kershaw Half-Ton, or the Kabar Dozier. The Kabar Dozier is a little over $15 though. I consider junk knives to be $10 or less.

Boker Plus Exskelibur 1. I love it!!! I have it on me every day with my Spyderco Vallotton. I am looking at getting a real Burger version hopefully soon.

This one - My son gave it to me. I keep it in the console of my truck.

It is cheap, but it stays sharp and has served me well. I don't treat it well....

Smith&wesson knives are great for their price. I have a HRT that I beat the shit out of and it has a bit of play but I'd still carry it today.

My favourite is an cheapie Ikea filleting knife that a culinary school classmate gave me 'bout 15 years ago.

i got one. You dont hear much mention on the forums about it either. The Gerber Obsidian. Ive had it for 5 years and its still going strong. Its the model with the bottle opener and screwdriver/file in the handle. It has always had a rock solid lock up and zero blade play.

I think some of you guys are confusing junk knives with value knives. My favorite "junk" blade is a CRKT dessert cruiser that I got off the bay for $12. I've reprofiled it and played with it quite a bit and I really like the design. If the blade was better steel and it didn't have the lawks feature it would be simply awesome.

One of my 'guilty pleasure' junkers is a CRKT M16-01KZ: zytel scales, coated 8Cr15MoV steel blade, AutoLAWKS, tip-down only clip configuration. While it isn't a horrible knife, it ain't a very good one either, but for some some strange reason I dig it...

Since getting more serious about my knives , I have been selling off or giving away my less expensive knives and replaced them with fewer but higher quality ones . I gave away a SAK copy the other day that I had forgotten I had and now my cheapest knife would also be one of my ESEE Izula's .

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

I don't purchase expensive knives (not even the most expensive knives I could afford). I purchase knives that I like. Those happen to fall in the Spyderco, Buck, Case, Victorinox, and Benchmade range which are pretty cheap in price, and in some cases, materials when compared to many of the upscale knives out there. I have some $20ish Bucks that probably best fit into my cheap user knife category, but in no way would I consider them junk (even though I know you aren't using the word junk as to mean worthless). In fact I'm so content with the quality of all of these knives that I really don't desire anything more expensive, because I don't think they'd suit my needs any better.

I'm gonna have to agree about Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops, I bought one from big 5 and got lucky because it was razor sharp out of the box, I lost that knife but im gonna buy another one.....S&W are not bad for cheap knives.

I also have a Smith & Wesson Border Guard and have beat the hell out of it and its still going strong, its just too heavy so I just leave it in the truck.....if your lookin for a good solid cheap knife to just leave it in your vehicle then get a S&W Border Guard.

My favorite cheap(not junk)knife is my yellow handled Case Sodbuster Jr with CV blade. One of the better $20 knives around.

Recently got a Byrd Hawkbill 2 for $19 buck with shipping. The dang thing is a buzz saw. I keep looking around for stuff to cut up. Cuts up electrical (copper) cords easily.
Nice all around quality.

Sarge knives lock back

21$, nice wood handle (have to treat it your self, i used a wax), with a slightly hollow ground thin 440C blade.

Came kinda dull, but after an hour of reprofiling it cuts like a dream, edge holds really well.

I got a cheapo folder in jamestown as a sovenier. Turns out the folder is somewhat decent, has an ok blade, but opens quick and smooth with very little bladeplay. I've seen them in other tourist destinations too.. 3bucks, not too shabby

My EDC is a Schrade Cliphanger that i love. I work in construction and have beaten the crap out of it and it still works. I kinda wonder why no one else did the whole clip hang thing, its very useful.

I also like my Cold Steel Kukri Machete, its probably the best $12 ive spent on a knife ever.
