Hi-Im new to folders, and have seen a few- but nothing on the scale compared to you guys,...But I must admit I realy like the Kershaw Speed Bump-its relatively cheap, and yet the opening action is great...quick...smooth, and sharp as hell--I have yet to handle a zt ( hey-I am in New Zealand here ) but cant wait .
If anyone can share their experienced thoughts as to why not the Speed Bump for an edc?-all I can see is probably the size come into factor there?..but then some knives here mentioned are as big-if not bigger?
-I would appreciate your honest opinions.
I did own a couple of speed bumps-but as soon as my other knife mates got hold of them-they were gone lol-so I have just recieved another one from Ryan-this one I will keep![]()
Your Needs Work is ether Sandvik 13C26 or 14C28N, depending on when it was made. There might be a date etched on the blade near the handle.
As for your next choice, for what you're looking for, a composite blade ZDP Blur (from kershawguy. Fantastic prices on factory blems) or a composite blade G-10 Tyrade. CPM-D2 on the cutting edge of that one. So many options...
Just checked my G-10 Needs Work and there isn't a date stamp. Got them back in August 2009, though. I'm guessing they were all made after Kershaw stopped using that. I thought all the G-10 versions were stone washed 14C28N.

+1 and +1 on both the CB ZDP Blur and G-10 Tyrade. Both very nice knives, but personally I'd go for the Tyrade, in Orange G-10.![]()
Hmmm.....hard to say but I rotate between 3 Bumps,4 Blurs and a couple of ZT's(Dobson modded 350 and a 200)
I'm going to my S30V Spec Bump. Sexy, sharp, fast.
Recycled an old pic
