Favorite Kershaw Knife?

love my skyline; it's been used well for nearly a year now. had a leek and passed it on to a friend, who loves it.

The Tyrade and I hope there is some derivation of it in the future because I don't really like the JYD II as much. Perhaps without the composite blade because the shape of the Tyrade is really nice looking and I love the ergos.

Right now I EDC a mini Cyclone titanium with a ZDP 189 blade, a Spec Bump, and or a ZT 0300. I have more Kershaws and kins, but these are my favorites. I can't pick a favorite among these three.

I would EDC my Tyrade, but the carbon fiber makes it hard to pull out of my pocket.

First, seven years ago this summer, it was the Scallion... soon after, the Blur. Over a year ago, a CB JYDII deposed the Blur - now, at least since last spring, it's definitely the

SG-2/Ti JYDII !!

Geez, you guys have made such a fuss about Kershaw that you've caused me to get interested--I'll get a few from Warriors and Wonders. They seem to provide awesome quality for the price.

I sadly don't own a Kershaw knife yet but for years I've been eying the 1050 folding field knife. I really love the look of that knife.

Well this month it is my new Scamp.

Tossup between an S30v Leek and S60v Blur. Would probably give the nod to the Blur.

Heard of torsion bar breaking in Kershaw knives--how often does this happen ? Is this a real issue or it's a case of 1 in a 1000 case ?

It's going to happen, but isn't common. Anytime you have a piece of metal under stress there is a chance that it will break.

My favourite is the Gentleman's Folder, it's one of the best production lockbacks I've handled. Fit and finish is outstanding, and the action is tremendously smooth. It's quite flat and thin so it fits very comfortably in any pocket. Vg-10 blade, micarta handle and brass liners.

My leek just broke its first torsion bar after 4, maybe 5 months of carrying it around all the time. They do break after a while. It takes a LOT of flipping to wear one out, but it happens eventually to all Kershaws (as far as I know). I've had to replace the torsion bars in all of the Kershaws I've owned and used at some point or another.

If your worried about torsion bars then pick up a kershaw with out one, there is plenty of good un-assisted models, like the RAM and JYDII.
