Favorite Knife?

Very nice! How do those work without the Torsion Bar?
Is the Detent strong enough to keep the blade closed?

Yes, the detent works just fine. It's not the strongest, but it's certainly good enough. As a manual, the Blur is incredibly smooth. You should try it. :)

I took out the torsion bar in my S30V Blur and I have to say I like it more. It is surprisingly smooth. I actually carry it more since making it manual.

I appreciate high OP activity in their threads. :D On topic: my favorite knife would have to be a tie between the three below:

The Caly 3.5 and 940 get equal carry time, the Delica has a lot of sentimental value [and probably the best deal I've ever gotten on a knife] as well as having a damaged pocket clip, so it doesn't see much of my pocket anymore. The BM 940 got me into knives, the Delica 4 was my first higher quality knife, and the Caly 3.5 CF is the first knife that felt absolutely perfect in hand. Also, about the scratches on the Caly 3.5... it's only gone through cardboard and plastic wrap, but damn is that 420J2 steel soft...

Not a scratch on the ZDP-189! Actually, I kind of like how it looks now that it's been so used...

Benchmade Mini-Bone Collector.

By the way, BladeChick, I admire your taste in writing instruments.

As a bonus you've learned that nobody here can count as low as 1 when it comes to knives. My .02 - Small Insingo

I really like that Para 2 as well! I've been looking for a Blue or Orange one so I can put my black blade on the handles lol.
How do you like the CTS-XHP? I'm loving it on my Techno.

CTS is one of my favorites!

For me having a single favorite knife is like having a single favorite band, or movie, it cant be done. There are to many flavors out there.

Just received this 4" 1095 tool-steel/boxelder scales and sheath from Bill Akers this morning. I don't know if I've ever seen a prettier knife, or a more perfect execution of an EDC.
I was going to give this as a groom's wedding gift for my daughter's wedding. But it's her third marriage; I've never met the guy, and I wouldn't let this out of my sight without a prenup. I expect that I'll have to send him something else.

Sonny I'd think long and hard before giving that thing away, its a real piece of work. Maybe a nice Mora instead?

I'm between favorites at the moment. My last was/is a Smith & Wesson "SWAT" folder, I think it was one of their first. I bought it 13 years ago when I first moved to Phoenix. Never saw a serrated blade before that, and I asked the guy behind the counter what you could do with a serrated edge, in practical terms? Without saying a word, he pulled a length of thick battery cable from under the counter, wrapped it over the blade, and cut it in one stroke. I bought it right there and never regretted it. It's big, a little heavy, but if fits my pocket perfectly and I can have it out, use it, and back in my pocket in a flash; it just fits me that well.

I'm now between a ZT 200ST for casual EDC, and it's tough and the blade is scary sharp, but it's too much for dress pants at work. So I have a Gerber AR 3.5 for that, but it doesn't feel as robust as I'd like. I want an "everwhere" folder, and am hoping that a Kershaw Black serrated Vapor III that's on order will split the difference.

I also have a Ka-Bar BK2 on order, which I'm anticipating becoming my favorite fixed blade. I want something that can take a beating and ask for more.

I have a few nice custom blades here that I can pick from. But Bill Akers is not one that I would give away willingly.

I LOVE THIS THREAD!

My favorite folding knife is my Custom Spear point ground XM18, and a close second is the Sage 2!
