I've thought about getting a Bone Collector myself... but I already own the 555 and they seem like fairly similar knives design-wise. How's the D2 on it? BM's 154CM is my favorite to sharpen at the moment.

It came shaving sharp out of the box. I've only subjected it to light cutting, so I haven't had to sharpen it yet.
D2 is my favorite steel, I have a bunch of knives in D2 including a few Queen slipjoints. On the ones I have sharpened , I never let them get too dull, I just touch them up with a ceramic stick.

I had a 555 but hated the hollow handle, the BC is a nice solid feeling knife. It's heavier than the Grip and has full liners.

Wow, I didn't expect this many posts since my last post!!!

Anyways:
I'll definitely have to try a Blur without the torsion bar. I'm not big on Spring assist anymore so if I can have it manual I would love to have a Blur. I've avoided a blur because of the assist and I've been told the detent sucks when the torsion bar is removed. Has anyone removed the Torsion bar from a SS Volt? If so, how's it work? I have one under the tree and I love the knife but would love it even more if it was manual!

The caly 3.5 is amazing I've been wanting to try one really bad and may have a chance here soon. It's gorgeous and I'm sure it's one that I'll really like. Though I'm partial to the Golden and Taichung Spydies.
How do you like the 940? I've really wanted to pick one up because it just seems like a nice little folder.

I think it's cool that you enjoy another knife over your Sebenza because a lot of people just stop even trying other things after owning a CRK. Not me, I still love other knives. But the Sebenza is my favorite because it just happens to be perfect for me.

How do you like the Shigorov? I want one soooo bad!!! They're gorgeous. I know they're large, but do they feel/seem as large as they are? How do they ride in the pocket? The Para 2 is also a wonderful folder.

Thanks for the compliment on my choice of writing utensils. I love pens. And flashlights. Knives are my main love, but the flashlights and pens come in at a close second lol. I really want the rainbow Fisher Space Pen Bullet. It's gorgeous and I think I would love it! The color is just awesome. I really want an anodized titanium Hinderer Investigator as well.

I know it's extremely hard to choose a favorite, but I know a lot of us just have one knife that we really enjoy just a little more than the others in the drawer - or wherever you guys keep your knives lol.

And yeah I always like to participate in my threads because I love reading the replies and like to ask questions and comment.

^^ Very nice. I don't have over 50 knives because I don't see the need for that many, but I do have more than I need lol.

Also I forgot to comment on the custom XM-18 - It's beautiful. I can see why it's your favorite. I think it's awesome that the Sage 2 is a close second. It's a great knife!!!

love me some swimming pool green scales on my small ritter too

My Ritter Mini-Grip w/ Wilkins scales. Really, it's the scales that makes this my favorite. By itself, the Mini-Grip is decent, but the WilkinsGrips transforms it into something else entirely. Plus the anticipation of waiting for him to make another batch of Swimming Pool Green scales made me appreciate them that much more when the came out earlier this year.

The 940 is still part of my EDC alongside the Caly 3.5... I find that neither can kick the other out of rotation! The Caly seems to be more non-knife people friendly, and can handle just as much a workload as the 940 can. Honestly I love both of them, use them both at work almost all day [meaning a good sharpening every second day]. I also find that because the 940 is so thin, it's quite pocket-friendly, not to mention the lack of G10 wearing at the pocket lining.

Also Willard - The Mini Grip and Bone Collector are two completely different knives.
The Bone Collector is much more solid and has a great steel. I never had a problem with wear on the steel. It's very sharp. Feels nice in the hand though it is thick. The blades are similar but the grinds are a little different. I prefer the Bone Collector.

You'd probably love the Blur. It's very very smooth, and there are some amazing variations. I prefer the flat ground ones, as they're a bit more robust. The new carbon fiber model has CPM-154 steel, which is a joy. The S30V version, also flat ground, is crazy good for the price. The detent is not very strong, but it's about on par with a worn in ZT0550. I carry tip down, so it's never an issue. Give it a shot, and if it's not your thing, you'll easily get most of your money back.

The SS Volt doesn't have a hole for the detent, it requires the torsion bar for retention. Sorry... :(

Love the Shirigiriv 95. It fits my hand (I have small to medium hands) better than CRK Umnamzaan it weights about the same but has longer & thicker blade. It is very comfortable to carry as well.

I have this blem Kershaw JunkYardDog 2.2 model in my pocket, a composite blade with D2 as the edge. It's the cheapest knife I've owned in fifty yrs, and also the sharpest. Boy, does it go thru a cardboard box! I have enjoyed many other knives, from PM2's through Hinderers, but this factory-edge cuts better than anything else I've ever had. Go figure!
I had read many posts where folks chose this for their number one hard-use; now I know why.
Note that I'm only talking about MY experience with a factory edge. I'm not talking about knives that have been sharpened by the owner, or that one blade-steel is preferred over another, although D2's reputation is well-known.

I guess my favorites are the ones I use the most. An Endura3 for EDC, a D2 Rat-7 for a fixed blade, and lately a South Fork which kinda combines the best of both knives. Pretty sure I'll buy another South Fork before they stop selling them.

I'll definitely have to check the Blur out now that I know I can take the torsion bar out. =]
That's okay about the SS Volt, I like it the way it is. But I love manual knives lol.
The JYD 2.2 is an excellent knife Sonny. I don't blame you for loving it. And D2 is an excellent steel.
Thanks for the info on the 95! I'll definitely have to check one out sometime.
I'm not usually a fixed blade person, but that South Fork is perfect, I need one.

^^ Nice. How do you like the Persian? I've wanted to try one.
Also, aren't you the guy with tons of Spyderco's? Like you have them hanging on your walls in display cases? I think you're the one that posted that pic. I was amazed.
