favorite mora

My favorite was the 510 for sure!!!

Until I rehandled a couple, now this (Full Tang) 4" + Oak is my favorite, and I just finished a sheath for it today, so it can go on it's first trip to the Sierras this weekend.

Nice

i am a big fan of the craftman in tri-flex. the handle is the most comfortable of all of the moras i have handled. but, the triflex rusts up a little more than i thought it would have, but that isnt really a problem.

My favorite is my 521, seen here with a Fiskars and a Vic Hiker. I thought they made for a good inexpensive trio

The 521 is my favorite 'cause it's the only one I have so far. I know some people don't like their Moras with guards, but it works for me. I would like to try out a couple of the smaller versions. The 521 is a great all around size, but something with a shorter blade would be nice for carving/whittling.

I have a bunch. My two favorites, though, are the 510 and the 2000. I like the 2000 just a little bit more. I can't explain it, but the 2000 gets sharper than the 510, and it's sharpens easier, too. As I said, I can't explain it. Edge holding between the two seems the same, but I've not done serious testing.

My favorite is the Mora #2, just because I love the look of the classic styled Moras a bit more.

As for a beater, I prefer the Clipper, the handle is a bit more comfortable and it feels a more durable. I've done a bit of batoning with no ill-effects.

My next one will be the 510 or 2000, any suggestions?

The 780 triflex and the 740MG are the ones that I like best. The handles are the most comfortable and they have a nice guard.
I have a 780MG Clipper that I keep in the kitchen. I tried batoning through a log to break but it's still in one peice. The Clipper has the best sheath.

Any of the classic wooden handle models would suit me just fine, preferably one with a carbon steel blade and leather sheath.

If buying a user today from the current selection at Ragweed Forge, it would be the #137.

I'm a traditionalist so the classic red #1 is my favorite. On a whim, I once stropped mine to a real razors edge, then I used shaving cream and shaved with it just to prove I could (yeah, strange I know).

My second is the 780 triflex.

I love them all but the Military survival, Tri-flex and 2000 are probably the favorites. IMO, there is no knife made at any price that is as sharp or cuts as well as the 2000. I am talking about every one i have ever seen, right from the package. They cut like a lazer beam. The only knife I ever bought that was as sharp as the 2000 was a F-1

I have two that have made MANY hunting, fishing and camping trips. One is the Stainless Steel Clipper and the other is the Laminated blade NO.1. I have a Laminated number two as well but have not used it much yet. It's hard to beat the clipper for all around use and price.

You guys find the m2k point a little to wide for some tasks?? seems like it might be difficult to Drill with...or scoop out a hole in a fire board...

thanks for the info, my local surplus store i live in had a crate of them on display. 16 bucks Cdn. I'mnot really a plastic handled fan, but hey it cuts, its light (good for my minimalist carry days) and well, less than a case of beer, so ic an buy lots and give em away as presents.

which surplus store was this? :D
