Favorite Mora

My fave is a K J Eriksson Hunter I bought at Mora Nisses (A Swedish Sport hero) Sports shop, i Mora, Dalarna, SE in June of 1976. Paid 48.00 SE Kr, or about $6.85 US.

I really don't know much about mora's, I got this one as a gift since because I didn't have a fixed blade knife at all at the time.... I've used and abused it, almost cut the end of my thumb off with it though!

sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.

Right now, prob my Mora Clipper in OD. (No Time for Pics) Want to get the Mora Bushcraft Triflex and a few others. Then some Marion Carry Concealex sheaths!

Bushcraft Triflex. Culmination of old and new, combined into one of the best mora's I've owned. Insanely sharp, and then I sharpened it, now, WOW.

I have that on my top 3 to buy list. Would like that in a Marion Carry Concealex sheath with a firesteel loop.

I have a 511, 911 and one of the Laminated steel wood handled jobs. Got 'em off of Ragweed. Great place to buy.

The 511 is pretty sweet. I wanted the 510, but they don't make it anymore. The 511 has the big finger guard which I kind of like now. I bought it so that I would have something cheap to learn more about scandi grinds and what all the fuss was about Mora, and I found I like it a lot. I f'd up the edge a while back experimenting with a firesteel, but it can be fixed, or I can continue to use it as an experimental knife and replace it in a heartbeat.

Pretty simple really, I wanted to know what your favorite Moras are. So, lets hear it.

A thread about Swedish knives!! Me Like, A LOT!! :D

I travel trough Mora a couple of times each year on my way to my cabin up there in the woods.

(I have also visited Mora Nisses sportshop, sadly it's now gone and replaced by a modern sports-chain....)

My favorite is this one.... The grip is "soft/hard" rubbery but not spungy, its perfect! And I like the shape of the blade....

i like my clipper 860 a lot. mora's are generally very ergonomic but i'm also a big fan of this model's rubber grip...and yes, that thing looks like that in the snow in person, it just glows.

My favorite has got to be the Remora. ;)

Sorry I had too. I don't have a Mora, but I wouldn't mind getting one someday. :) Now I'll be able to make a better decision after this thread.

Hey Everybody.....

My favorite is the one in Captain Airyca's hand.....Good carbon steel, comfy handle, cheap enough to buy by the dozen......The one I tend to use for carving is the middle size one that comes in a set from Rockler, inexpensive, raw birch handle and a perfect length for both point and blade work......If you get a chance check out the AG Russell designed American Mora....Super lite it is.....I own a couple of fancy ones to look at but I really enjoy using my own designs MOST of the time............I really admire the Mora's and think the Captain Airyca model and Moose's choice offer a big bang for the buck....

All Best....

The one she is holding is the 510 if I am not very much mistaken. No more buying them by the dozen. Trust me. I've looked. The closest thing now is the 511. Same knife, but with a guard that a lot of people grind off, but I like. $8 as seen. $12.50 in stainless with the blue handle.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to mention the reMORA in a Mora thread.

You & I have the same taste Moose! Waiting on a local supplier to get the triflex.
Have you used it much? Seems like a good bushcraft/utility....?

Phenomenal knife, for less that $20 US it cost me. I actually bought it from Rose Marie, the President of Frosts Mora. She was at Rep day at SMKW when I got it.

Fine example of mora tradition and innovation.

Cuts like a chainsaw, takes a SCARY sharp edge, and really holds it well, and it tough enough to beat through wood.

Great knife.

I like knives.

There's a poop handle or clipper somewhere in the bottom of every pack I own. They really compliment the big Beckers.
