Favorite outdoor folder....

I always have a Victorinox Huntsman in my pocket, but also carry a 4" fixed blade on my belt almost everywhere I go. I live in a very rural area and it doesn't even get a second glance from anybody.

Anyone have any experience with that new BLADE TECH RIJBAK model? It looks the part definitely, I think I may need one.

buck 110 in sheath on the belt or leatherman surge...
or CRKT M-16 in the pocket

I always EDC a folder in the woods and in the suburbs too

wishlist is a spyderco endura PE.

I don't think you have to drop a lot of $$$ to have a tusty folder.

Schrade 960T
SAK Super Tinker
Or whatever Spyderco, lockback or slipjoint I have in my pocket or belt.

Not to switch my own thread over, just a quick question about your spyderco knives. I have the H1 pacific salt and the Endura 4. Both have the spyder edge and are pretty much the same knife looks wise, but one is a "real" stain-free knife, and the other is made from VG-10.

Now, do you guys like spyderco knives in plain edge or with the spyder edge?

And, does it help THAT much more to have the spyder edge?

I've never used a Spyderco with the Spyderedge, but I agree with everything Bad Axe had to say on the subject of serrations in general.

I don't think you have to drop a lot of $$$ to have a tusty folder.

That's why I love SAKs and Opinels!

On backpacking trips it is usually a Spyderco Para, plain edge. Plus a Queen #9 stockman, SAK Classic, and Leatherman Squirt.

I always carry my SAK Soldier & either my Buck/Stryder 889 or my Spyderco Wegner model (plain edge).

I have several that I carry for outdoor work. The Endura with the Combo edge. The CS Ultimate Hunter. The CS voyager and the Grohmann shown above. Its about a toss-up but the CS Ultimate hunter is about the toughest folder I have used. I also always have the Kershaw Blackout with me.

My everyday user , my going hiking user , my going camping user , my doing whatever user :)

batosai117 we share the same infliction regarding folders. My go to buddy is the Buck 110. Solid knife for sure. I also use a schrade large stockman slip joint post U.S.A. model. Actually it is not that bad it has ironwood handles and IMO is a handsome little knife. The only fixed blade I take and use is my custom Fiddleback Nesmuck. My edc is a Spyderco Native and it has been real serviceable for me.

Myal, is that the locking okapi? Where can I get my hands on these okapi knives? I like the simplicity of the okapi like the opinel but I like how the handles taper on the okapi.

Diamond Dog , I was lucky , no agents or dealers or wholesalers here so I get them direct from Okapi South Africa .
I can sling you one over if you want one , my email is howyergoin@bigpond.com .
Ragweed forge sells them too , I know you can get them on ebay ... Im not spmamming , cos I havent got anything like it listed right now :)
look around , they turn up everywhere when you start really looking .

My SAK trekker or Champ. I also carry a Lakota l'il hawk sometimes.

Chef,
I had a run-in with a pack of feral dogs a few years ago, if you are not packing for one of those encounters, it's a pretty intense situation....

Usually i use my Vic Huntsman or SwissChamp or OH Trekker+Compact.
I just recently bought my first Buck 110 which is turning out to be very useful solid knife albeit heavier than i'm currently used to.
The 110 weighs about the same as my old first gen SOG Tomcat.
The sheath that came with the 110 is well made but I think i'll buy or make a new sheath for it as well.
I just got an Eka Swede 90 from Forumite anthony cheeseboro.
Great knife its kinda like a Vic Waiter on Steroids.
It has removable Bubinga wood panels and a blade of Sandvik 12c27 steel.
It holds a wicked edge!
Its great if you are in a minimalist kinda mood!
:)

Either my Opinel 8 or my SOG Trident folder. Both hair popping sharp with nice thin blades!

My Spyderco Manix goes with me everywhere, even in some urban settings where it shouldn't be due to the Republic of California's ridiculous laws. We bonded over an incident with a pack of feral dogs about 8 months ago and its been my bestest budro ever since.

Hey guys, how about sharing those experiences? Might be something that can be learned from them.
