I'm quite a fan of giant overbuilt folders, (Strider SMF, Grayman Satu, etc etc) what's your favorite overbuilt folder?

My personal favorites are my Strider SnG and my Hinderer XM-18. I used to own a ZT 0301 and it was super overbuilt and a great buy.

Haven't ever bern fortunate to a try a TSF Beast, but from what I've seen, they look very robust.

I realize forum members appreciate quality folders.
I do too, but to me 'overbuilt' often equals beefy.
An overbuilt folder is an oxymoron or rather counterproductive to me.
I want a sleek compact folder to fit in my pocket - if I want a more robust tool, I'd choose a rigid knife.
That is of course just my opinion and we all know opinions may vary.
If you want a big folder - more power to you.

A sleek compact folder is great and is awesome for EDC, but sometimes people just like something a little different and more heavy duty. I love my sleek and compact Bradley Alias 2, but also like a bigger and beefier knife for all around EDC as well. It's just a matter of personal preference, no we probably really don't need them, but we like and enjoy them, so why not?

My favorite, currently, would be my BM 810 Contego.

I agree. I like them too. Its just that if i pick a beefy folder it doesnt go in my front pocket but rather in a compartment in a MaxP ruck or the like.
But as we both agree; its simply a matter of personal preference, so to each his own and so on and so forth.

If I had a Demko like Jim's the choice would be fairly easy. I'll be contrary and choose my old

1) T3 Lone Wolf

2) Camillus Cuda Maxx 5.5 D2 Bowie

3) 3V SMF

This^ but SnG. I love the light weight overbuilt Strider folder.
Nice knife Jimmy. Why dunt you attach a pocket clip to a brick? :D

It really cuts being ground thin behind the edge and with that deep hollow grind.. :D

It's how I had it speced out, it's as thin or thinner than a Spyderco Military behind the edge at .020". ;)

I was quite impressed with the Lionsteel SR-1 for its construction. While certainly not a beast of a knife, the Spyderco Techno is a fair bit more ruggedly built than most knives of similar size.

Even though its a smaller EDC, my TSF BEAST is my fav owned overbuilt folder.

Now my fav overbuilt folder in general is one that I unfortunately don't own "yet".

That would be a Direware SOLO V2, absolutely LOVE the SOLO and one day this year I will own one.

But there are others that I really digg as well, like the CF VIS-T.

mine is the ZT 0300. Its probably the most knife you will get for the money. I only wish they would make a non recurve version with KVT.

Yea the Reloader is one ill def add to my collection very soon.

My Division Flipper from Jason should be arriving later today.

I'm like a kid on Christmas morning right now lol, just waiting for the mail to come.

Can't wait to start carrying this bad boy.
