Favorite Pen?

I have carried a Montblanc Hemmingway ball pen since its inception, years ago.
I have now started to also carry an Edward Merrill Ti pen designed by Grayson Tighe.
At home, I like to use a fountain pen: Montblanc Diplomat 149 or the Parker Duofold.
For dress wear, I carry a Montblanc Alexander Dumas ball pen.
Plus assorted other pens, like the spacepen, etc.

with the Rotring 600 as my #1 ! I've used a Rotring 600 since 1998 or 99 (?), and without a doubt it fits my writing and lifestyle to a "T".

#2 is the Fisher space pen, mostly 'cause it's sop small & e-z to carry.
#3 is a Retro (51) Stars & Stripes that writes ok, but is well built.

Though I am into expensive gadgets (flashlights, watches, knives) I am always loosing pens. So I have accpted the fact that I am better off using "cheapies". I love the Zebra Hyper Jell 0.7 I used to always go for a fine line but I love how this thing writes!

My latest carries are a Mont Blanc Generation BP, a Mont Blanc Meisserstuck, and a Waterman Phileas.

I am loving the Fisher Space pen I bought from the Discovery Channel! I used it at work yesterday. Great pen and it fits in my pocket just fine. And for $5.00 you can't beat it!

I Carry A Lightfoot Ti Pen Everywhere I GO. It Is An Attention Getter AND IT MAKES FOR A NICE IMPACT DEVICE.

I'm interested. Where would I get one?

Bic Stick
Papermate's low level pens...

I really like the Pilot G2 as well...

But a real super sharp pencil is my prefered writing tool. The only problem? They dont stay super sharp for more than a 1/4 page!

The pen I am carrying this week is the Pilot Varsity. A disposable fountain pen. I had a hard time finding them in my city, I finally found them at 1 of my Wal-Marts(2-pack, blue & black), and today I say the 3-pack at "Staples"(All blue, all black, or 1 blue, black and purple). I had checked the other 2 office stores, and they didn't have them. I never checked "Staples" till today. :)

Here's my list.

1. For pocket carry, it has to be a fisher bullet pen (no clip). It is so small it disappears until you need it. (I have the brushed finish, which is nice for grip.)

2. For field work I also carry (shirt pocket) a Fisher TAR (red/black/pencil). AND

3. A retractable black sharpie.

Fishers can be globby at times, but they are extremely reliable in every other sense, which is why I keep one in pocket.

4. For writing at my desk, I use Zebra SARASA 0.7.

5. For bold writing, I like the mini-felt-tip papermate "Liquid-Expresso" pens (medium point), as they are very smooth and provide the most contrast (i.e. darkest lines).

6. Backup pen - pressurized mini-pen in my Cybertool 41.

Anything that is not paper gets the sharpie or the Fisher treatment.
For writing more than notes, and in a controlled environment, other pens are simply nicer and smoother than the Fishers.

Edit: QUESTION: I noticed that Fisher has a QUAD version of the TAR (Black/Red/Pencil/Stylus). Can the stylus be removed and replaced with another color? Has anyone tried this on the TAP stylus version, or can you just look inside and see if it could be done?

I'm a big Waterman pen fan! And it's got to be a Roller Ball. My only fine pen is a Waterman Expert Roller Ball in a red marble color.

Fine pens are certainly something (like watches) on which I could easily blow way, way, way too much money!

I too am a HUGE Waterman fan (IMO) they are the BEST on the market and only certain Parkers, Lamys and Crosses are in their league. I don't see much need in paying big bucks for a plastic pen, most Watermans are lacquer over Brass, which makes for a strong, heavy pen, they also have a lifetime warranty. Congrats on the Expert, it is probably the best pen series on the market at its price point, though I am also a big fan of the Lamy 2000.

My fav. Ballpoint is my Waterman Expert Red with a medium black refill, it's beautiful and writes very fluidly. I also use a black Waterman Phileas Rollerball, and plan to get an Expert Fountain in Prussian Green pretty soon. I don't have any of the L'Etalon series yet (my favorite Waterman, very classy/expensive) but I plan to get some, and at least one Edson fountain one day :D (really expensive)

I am surprised not much mention of the Sanford/Papermate PhD or Pilot Dr. Grip, while I realize these are inexpensive both are GREAT writing pens and very comfortable to use. Also my FAVORITE inexpensive ballpoint, the Sheaffer Award. The old Parker Jotter is also good, but I don't use them, I have big hands and get cramps in them very easy when writing with small barreled pens, which is why I always prefer pens which are fairly fat, like Waterman Expert, Lamy 2000, Sheaffer Award, and if I could afford one Parker Duofold :D

The Pilot Dr. Grip is a great pen. Great for extended periods of writing. Mine seem to always break just above the grip for some reason. I wish they would make a sturdier version.

I've never had that troub with a Dr. Grip. If that's a prob check out the Sheaffer Award ballpoint, they make one with an aluminum barrel that is stronger than plastic and the plasic version is very hard, strong plastic, it is very fat, similar in profile to Dr. Grip and has a rubber gripping area near the tip. Also, they take those big Sheaffer ballpoint refills that last forever, they're well under 20 dollars, come with a lifetime warranty. I used to not think much of Sheaffer (was a Waterman snob) but this pen converted me and got me to buy several more Awards and quite a few other Sheaffers (all good pens). My fav ballpoint is still my Waterman Expert, but I carry my Sheaffer Award the most.

Green Waterman Rhapsody ballpoint bought for me by my GF in a shop in Picadilly Circus in London, U.K.

I carry either a Mont Blanc or Waterman rollerball or one of several Waterman ballpoints. I like pens as much as knives (almost!).

I have an S.T. Dupont rollerball that I use M-F. Got it as a gift. Took a while to get over the french thing, but I now absolutely love it. It still has that crisp snap closing.

I love Cross pens. I buy others, but I always come back to one of my Crosses. What can I say?

I carry a Mont Blanc Kafka BP with a Broad refill. Which is a limited edition
