Favorite Pocket Clip

This (obviously Begg inspired) clip on my Reate. The ceramic ball is brilliant, making it easy to get in and out of the pocket while the sculpted titanium body provides plenty of tension, keeping it securely in my pocket. I dig it.

I prefer deep carry clips but, it really depends upon the knife. For example, my Benchmade 531 comes with their split arrow clip.
Hated that. Swapped it out with BM's deep-carry version and it is a joy to use.

My Volli however, is better with the arrow clip and, for me, the Griptilian works best with the standard clip offered by Benchmade. Like I said, it really depends upon the knife.

Short, Natural finish.

Nothing to do with clips, but everytime I see that GB1, I swoon. That is some beautiful knife right there.

I’m a fan of the generic Spyderco spoon clip as well. I don’t like their wire clip for some reason. I also like the standard CRK clip. On the more custom end, I really like Smock’s clip on my SK23. It carries very securely, which I like on a pricey knife.

Standard black Emerson clip is my favorite. Spyderco standard hour glass clip (not with integrated lanyard hole) is a close second. I've never been too concerned with deep carry clips. I don't avoid them, but I don't really care either way.

Also CRK for the second retention point.

I’m writing this with great caution because I’m expecting a bunch of $hit from you guys but here it goes. My favorite clip is the SOG flash II. That thing fits snug and rides extremely deep in the pocket like buried. Ok flame away

I actually like that clip also. Deep carry. Good spring. I can’t speak to the entire line, but the pocket clips and blade grinds on my Flash 2 and Zoom-mini are excellent.

I like the clip on large and small sebenza. They mold into my hand. I put one on this spyderco

Finger goes right away to deployment hole as its not as deep anymore inpocket.

Now i had to put the vacated great spyderco wireclip somewhere

Also clip on my cold steel code 4 is pretty great. You don't feel it in hand with that model and it's pretty special as it is next to impossible to snag it on anything. You should try

I want to like it but, I just can't. I even bought one on my honeymoon. Like I said, I really want to like it, however, there are some ergo problems for me. Things like having the safety catch on my nails when I reach in my pocket. Or, having the clip catch on a door latch and mangle the scales.

At on point in time I owned three Flash 2s. A rescue model, a combo edge, and one plain edge. Now, just the plain edge. I'll keep it. My wife said that she will keep it if I die.

The blade is fantastic. Makes one heck of a steak knife!

As boring as crk clips are , they function very well. I feel it can clip on thin or thicker material without trashing it.

No flame here. If SOG made knives as well as they do pocket clips I'd own a lot more of them.

Spyderco Wire clip is the best one imo. Second place I'd place benchmades deepcarry and far back on the last one is every single milled clip there is - they just never work as well as a spring clip :D
EDIT: actually the G&G "press here to clip your knife" clip is the worst

Here are some of my favorite pocket clips:

From left to right, that's a ProTecg Calmigo, an A.G. Russell fluted titanium framelock, a Boker Zinker FR, and an A.G. Russell medium folding gents hunter. Note how on the first three, the clip seatings (or whatever you want to call them) and the screws are completely recessed into the handles, leaving the surfaces flush. And on the gents hunter, there are no screws at all!

Here are pictures of the knives open:

I think that one of the greatest abominations of the modern knife world (other than overly thick knives/bladestock) is the sheer proliferation of awful clips that simply don't function properly as clips. It seems like 90% of custom knife makers can't make a clip worth a damn. If you don't have the skills to properly make a functional, thin, 3D-machined clip, then used a stamped clip.

I disagree great retention, easy to use, and you don’t have to scrape anything across your pants

Ok to explain my point a bit: Where I worked I often had to use a knife for a few seconds and put it away again just to pull it out again. For that a clip like this is just to fumbly imo. In an office environment It'd probably be fine but I've grown to not like them. Plus the way I grip a knife my fingers are nowhere near the "button"
