what is your favorite small spyderco i always carry a bug and or a urban as a small backup so if need be i dont get that oh sh#t reaction when i open a package with a 4 inch blade

The burgundy Meerkat is my only small one, but I am going to get a SE H1 Dragonfly that I bet I will like better. I did take the clip off the Meerkat, and just pocket it, and it does well for that.

The Pingo is the smallest Spyderco I own. Great little pocket knife and it doesn't freak out non-knife folk.

I love the Manbug. It has a great cutting edge and a very easy to sharpen blade. It can do a lot of cutting for its size too. It is great for use around the sort of people who don't carry pocket knives.

The other posts have reminded me of the Techno. It is expensive, but it would be a nice knife to have.

Love my Kiwi! My wife carries a Bug I gave her for Christmas. I wish I kept it. Cool little knife.

I love small Spydies - and have a whole bunch of them dating back to the early 1990s. For day-in, day-out use, you can't beat the DragonFly 2 - I carry the green ZDP-189 version quite frequently. The new Bradley Air is seeing a lot of pocket time recently - the M4 thin blade combined with the light-as-a-feather titanium make it easy to carry. The little Baby Goddards are very nice for a more "formal" small knife. I also have the full line of Spyderco Solo knives from the early 1990s. Several of these (including the one in my sig line) are fantastic small EDCs.

I feel like an Oscar winner up on the stage - rambling on and on... :) There are almost too many great smaller Spydies to talk about!

Depends on you defenition of small...
I have a couple of small (tiny?) Spyderco's, like the bug, honeybee, grashopper and kiwi3
The only that that gets carried is the kiwi 3, the others are a bit too small for me.
I find the Pingo very interesting but haven't handled it yet.

There are a lot of good ones, like TedP said! My current favorites are Techno, followed by Michael Walker ZDP.

If we are talking smaller than those (Techno is certainly beefy), then my picks would be CoPilot Almite, original Kiwi with gaspeite inlays, and Balance SS.

Honorable mention to Lava, Cricket, Dragonfly. :D

One of my biggest problems with Spyderco is that they make way too many knives that I like. Mo' knives, mo' problems, you know ;)

Right now, I'm liking the Techno. Or the Man Bug for something a little smaller, the Rookie for something a little larger.

Does the glass fiber on the Air seem like it will hold up long-term to being carried? I really like the looks, size and weight of those!

I'm also thinking about the ZDP-189 Dragonfly, but I can't decide if I want it or the G10 D'fly...this is a sickness!

Currently, I only have one very small Spyderco, so it would have to be this guy:

That said, I'm probably going to add a couple of other itty bitty Spyderco options. My wife seems partial to Spyderco titanium frame locks, so I suppose I should buy a Techno and a Leaf Storm too.

These are my favorite small Spydies in order:

1) Techno
2) G10 Dragonfly
3) Air
4) Pingo

The Techno is right on the verge of not being a "small" knife IMO. Sure the blade length is short but it is 4mm thick!

Balance rides unclipped in my watch pocket every day. It comes out instead of the PM2, Caly3 or Sage1 if I'm worried about reactions
