Been spending some time with the sowbelly pattern which is one I initially had no interest in. Just wondering what your favorite flavor of stockman is? Serpentine? Cigar? Something I've never heard of?

Serpentine, the GEC 82's were a homerun in my opinion. Still would like one in stag.

Serpentine I suppose. Most all of my stockman patterns are either rounded or squared bolsters on a serpentine frame. I think the only exceptions I have are the GEC Maverick which is on a congress frame, and the Case 63090 Medium Stockman which is equal-ended.

My favorite is the Case 63046 Humpback Stockman. I like the GEC Calf Ropers a lot too but I prefer stainless steel for EDC.

The 2015 Case/Bose Stockman looks pretty nice but I don't have any experience with it for obvious reasons. I might give it a whirl though when they are released.

I wouldn't mind trying out a Cattle knife myself. The Queen/Burke Real Cattle Knife looks like a good candidate.

I prefer a serpentine but no matter the frame I like my stockman knives with clip, sheepsfoot, and spey blades.

Case 6392

Case 3347

Case 6375

GEC #66 Calf Roper

No matter what form the frame is (serpentine, sowbelly, etc.) the stockman is a hard knife to beat. Even with a pen blade or punch blade in place of the spey blade the stockman is a great knife and gives such a great selection of blades for various cutting needs.

I personally like them all. The 66 gets carried the most though.

4" or so and serpentine. Favorite being the GEC #81 followed by the Schrade 881/8OT and Case 75's though they are a handful!

For a large stockman I prefer the GEC 82 or Schrade 61OT/861.

For a medium style stockman my favorite is the Schrade 899. I find a punch as the third blade very useful. Probably my most used blade on the 899.

My most recent one is a Case #47 pattern in damascus and burnt cream bone. I love the fact that it's a 3-spring, so no krinked blades.

In a slightly bigger knife, the GEC #53 Cuban is an all-time favorite, this one in bark ram's horn.
These carry so much smaller than their size would indicate, because of the round bolsters and low-lying blades.

Wow, that's nice! I don't have any equal end stockmans (stockmen?), but I want one, now. :D

It may not be strictly speaking a traditional stockman, but I like the Buck 303 Cadet. They switched the spey and sheepfoot blade, and with three springs, there's no crinking. This means the sheepfoot blade is centered on the middle spring. Good for straight cutting

My all-time favorite #53 GEC is this one.

My favorite serpentine is this Robeson (Queen).

This Case a carried for about a dozen years.

I'm also partial to what Queen calls their "Reverse Gunstock Stockman"

I always carried an Old Timer stockman as a kid and loved em. Kind got a UNXLD #81 in December and it's really great I love it! And I've got a #82 Dixie Stockman on the way.

Love stockmans.

My current go to stockmans are Case 63032 and GEC Calf Roper.

I also love my Case 6375, Buck 301, 34OT. All great knives.

Im thinking of getting a case sow belly. There have been several great pics on the forum lately.

My favorite pattern is the 61OT, a long slender 3-blade stockman from Schrade. They don't get mentioned much outside of the Schrade Collectors area. They are so comfortable in the hand and in the pocket...

I wish Case or Great Eastern or Boker would make a version of this available with different handle materials.

Stockman. Many from which to choose. Here are some of mine:

I'm partial to a stockman with rounded bolsters.
This Camillus is one of my favorites:

But this Case Sowbelly has taken up residence in my pocket for the last several months and now I seldom carry anything else:

I have two. The Queen 09 in Curley Zebra. It is a beautiful knife with great F&F. Came butter knife dull.....had a tough time sharpening it (D2), so I had it professionally sharpened. Love the knife...but jury's out on D2. My go to stockman is my Calf Roper. Love the knife. With a peanut riding shotgun, I typically carry either my #85 Cocobolo or #66 Calf Roper. Love them all!
