Favorite Stockman pattern?

My #66 Calf Roper i filed down the kick on the sheep foot blade, i also like to carry a peanut sized backup in my light fleece jacket i wear indoors, i have two peanuts, two #22 Magnums a #06 Pemberton and a #09 Esquire all nice little knives but the all have half stops and my arthritic fingers struggle with half stops so i carry a Northwoods Norfolk as a backup.

GEC #66 Calf Roper

GEC's #66 (above) and Case's 6318 Medium Stockman hit the spot for me, both in overall length and in the serpentine frame's perfection for the pattern-- each of the three blades is comfortable in use.

Hard to say really (I'm still waiting for delivery of my Dixie Stockman in Blackwood, tomorrow&tomorrow&tomorrow:D) but I find this Queen Small Stockman in D2 to be absolutely fine. The WCSB scales have yellowed favourably-I'm the 2nd owner, great snap, no gaps or play and no high riding sheep posing handling problems:cool:

Ha i just got it, i had thought that was poly rope that fine #66 was resting on, then i remembered that what we call sweets, you over there call candy.

Well the Dixie finally arrived this week and it's a gasser :D (no not Cell horror!) There are lots of great Stock knives big and small ancient and modern but for me this is THE ONE. Sleek, curved, round bolsters, low riding blades&tangs, shrieking snap, the shield, the slant bolsters, that Blackwood. It's no lead pipe weighing down your pockets either. Nice to see that GEC still puts out fine production knives rather than just the popular SFOs.

Will, that's a beauty. how's it feel in the pocket? I was going to get one until I found the Abilene stockman.

Nice stockman, Mr. Power. You seem familiar, but I can't place the name? ;)

Yeah, what's going on? I went to the first page of the "latest addition" thread as I usually do, but the OP for the thread was no longer willgoy, but some dude named Will Power. It's Pi Day, not April Fool's Day.:eek::confused:

Thanks for the comments on my Dixie. Steve, it goes well in the pocket in my view as I do tend to prefer Stockman with low riding blades, the workmanship is remarkable.

As for name changes... change is inherent in all things. Since a very kind Forumite bought me a membership, I felt a slight change was called for, the original recipe remains unchanged:D:D

Quite the looker, Mr. Powers! Great selection of blades as well. I, at first, thought r8shell was making reference to her inability to get chores done today...lol

No wonder I couldn't find your post

Hey y'all does anyone have a comparison shot of a Boker 3 1/2" inch stockman next to a 66? Trying to get an idea of how well I'd like the hand dimensions on the 66.

My favorite to khan pattern is the 8OT/881. The size of them is just great. I luckily have these two on the way.
