Hunted is no good ?? I was goin to buy it on DVD this weekend... any other opinions on that film ?

Watchable, but basically a flashier, but less well done First Blood.

the hunted... hmmm...nice distraction, but no more... imagine, have you ever see a CQB and knife instructor go into the wood to find a psychopat without even taking a knife  or at least a gun. After that, the same instructor still runing after the psychopat without any weapon but this time from down town don't take the time to get a weapon, but instead of that loose some hours by getting in a wood to make his own primitive knife made of stone, and this for combat purpose    buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...that's a movie... see "the edge" instead, much better! :D Or "gangs of New york"

the reason he didnt take gun or a knife is because the character of bonham is based of tom brown. tom doesnt carry anything with him but the clothes on his back, on a tracking case. even against a a former student of his, " nails", (who is much like hallam) tom didnt take a knife. he is confident enough in his skills to be able to make one when and where he needs it, much like what bonham does in the film. read "case files of the tracker" itll explain alot of stuff about tom, thatwas put into bonhams character for the film.

oh and bonham wasnt really a knife instructor, more a stealth instructor, tom brown teaches the same exact thinks to the millitary, exept the knife moves. the knife training was just added for a cool effect, and to make it more clear why bonham feels so guilty about hallam.

Hi!

Some of my favs are:

The Edge
The Hunted
Predator
Rambo (all of them)
Red Dawn
Survival Quest (really good little flick!)

And, my all time ultimate favorite....

Alone in the Wilderness (documentary...if you have never seen this one, find it!! It's awsome! A 50'sh man back years ago, went to live in the Alaskan wilderness and documented his life there. He built his cabin using trees he felled there in the wilderness and this documentary shows his life out there where he lived for 30 something years!! It is truly awsome and very inspiring. PBS airs this documentary from time to time, but you can also find the video through Alaskan parks and wildlife online (that is where I got my copy of the DVD). If you can find it, watch it...it's well worth the time!)

I know that comic books are mainly mall ninja territory to the members on this forum, but for the zombie fans out there, have you read Walking Dead? The zombies taking over angle is more of a background, you see what the survivors do in a time of crisis, a lot of SHTF EOTW stuff going on. Not a lot of knife use seen, but the main character does kill a lot of zombies with an axe, that might be entertaining for the axe and tomahawk guys on here. Not outing myself as a mall ninja, I think I grew out of that about three years ago :D!

no, my comic is the original turok, i still collect the originals from the 50's. i read the newer ones too. sorry guys, got into it in the 90's with the vidio games, and my bro was a big collector. had his hole collection stolen too, left it at an ex's house, and someone stole them, he had lots of original turok too! prolly a couple thousand worth of collectors comics!

I still have a very large collection, but I don't have the same passion for them as I did not even 5 years ago. I'm keeping the real good stuff for my little brother, selling the so so stuff that I know will sell, and giving the rest to either an orphanage or childrens hospital. I still read a few, but the talent that these guys used to have has really bottomed out.

BTW, your brother could have sold that collection and started a nice knife collection, its a shame.

yeah he coulda, i mean he prolly coulda bought a hummer with the cash coulda made off them! he was stupid about it though, he had broken up with his user girlfreind who was a major B****, and left his whole collection in her basement. she probably invited a burglar in to take the stuff cause it had been there so long. bigtime shame! he would of been able to buy a good WSK for himself,(and maybe his little brother too!).

Anyone ever see a movie I believe is called "The Hatchet" that was a great movie though I watched it like 10 years ago and it could be not as good as I had remembered. :confused:Its about a kid that is going to see his dad and his mom gives him a hatchet before he goes, his dad lives in the wilderness, and he has to take a small plane with pontoon landing gear to get there. Anyway the plane crashes and.... well just watch it. Just found out that its called A Cry In the Wild.

If I remember right, it is a pretty good movie. I keep seeing the title on our cable menu, but on channels that we don't subscribe to.

SDDLUP - "For what it's worth I have enjoyed, many of the movies mentioned here - with the exception of "The Hunted" with Tommy Lee Jones. That was one of THE WORST MOVIES I HAVE EVER SEEN, and no I'm not kidding!"

pretty good movie, a cry in the wild, its based of the book "hatchet". the kid is pretty dumb though so i cant stand to watch it too many times. i liked the books better.
for gods sake he ran from a black bear! he had a hatchet too! i would had a fire hardened spear, and by days end, plenty of meat, and a new fur coat!
