Favorite Tactical Folder

buck 110, the original

I didn't know the Buck 110 qualified as a tactical folder.

Although, it does seem to be a mandatory recommendation on the board in every thread:

Looking for a good dive knife under $200.00. "Buck 110."
Looking for a folding knife with better edge-holding than my D2 knife. "Buck 110."
Looking for a stout fixed blade. "Buck 110."

As far as tactical folders go, I like the Harsey T1. Good fit and finish at a very reasonable price. I'm sure it's not even close to the best.

T.K.C., that Hinderer is a beatiful little beastie!

Kershaw Lahar.....could stab a tank.....VG-10 blade......great strength, well built...flipper and thumbstud....$60.00. What a deal

Ditto. Got it because of the following reasons:

1. Nice belly to the blade
2. Very clingy G10 scales
3. Super sharp
4. Solid action
5. It is named after something that decimated my home province after Mount Pinatubo blew up in 1990.:)

Another vote for the Benchmade 806 AFCK.

What kind of malls does can you find Gear Ninja stores at?

"Tactical Folder" is pretty accepted terminology, even though it may be an oxymoron to some.

Sort of like "Paintball Sniper."

I'd love to chip in, but I always struggle with what it is that exactly makes a knife "tactical".

Although, if that R. J. Martin knife is a tactical knife I'm totally down with that. :)

Man...what a lovely looking piece of work. I *love* the nice high hollow grind on the blade.

tactical is just the nice way of saying its meant to be used against people right?

I think the term "Tactical Folder" in general use applies to all "modern" locking, quick-deployment (one-hand opening) decently sturdy folders of a usable size.

I think it applies to just about any knife most of us EDC, barring slipjoints, thumb-knick knives, and friction folders. I also wouldn't define a Bali Song as a "Tactical Folder" only because they're in a class all their own.

The only reason I don't think the "useful to harm folks with" definition is usable is that a lot of knives that fit the definition of "Gentleman's Knife" are now locking, robust, and could be pressed into the usage.
