Fear the Walking DEad? *possible spoilers* read at own risk

Definitely better than the first one. A few little details that I really liked. When the dad noticed the police officer loading up the trunk of his patrol car with water. Really comes to mind. When they made eye contact, he instantly knew that the fit was officially hitting the shan. The end where they showed the lady across the street getting attacked was a good way to finish. It's in their neighborhood.

Yeah on each end, the husbands on his mission, and on the other half of the families end they did good showing the nature of the situation sinking in.

I like Tobias (the nerdy kid) and I think the Dad is gonna step up. At least he thought "lets get to the desert".
I love the social protest riot in the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse. I also think the Dads ex wife and son will be good...they need to see the daughters boyfriend "return"

The Wife and I liked this episode a lot more too. Tobias seems to be the only one with real awareness of how big the event is likely to be. The Dad's "get to the desert" plan ain't great (and what are you gonna drink?), but it's better than their neighbors with the party & Jumpie! I think they actually did a good job showing the denial people would go through. LA will riot and set the town on fire over just about anything these days. I sure hope there IS a backdoor outta that barber shop!!!

We're in for the next episode in "Two Weeks"! (there must be a Busse knife in the show somewhere!!!) --- :D

Well the "lets get to the Desert" is more lets get out of town for me. Also as mentioned above when the Dad saw the cop loading up on water it really hit him. I think (hope) we will be seeing more of Tobias he may be like Morgan and we catch up with him later and throughout the series!

Paraphrase of the night:

"They're attacking Mrs. Cruz!"
"Don't look out the window"

In the preview they show the Dad and family going out the front door of the shop...no back door! Yeah and two weeks til next episode, not cool I need more now!

Anyone notice when the mom gave the junkie his pill he asked how much she had? She said enough to get to the desert and he asked what then like he has no desire to get clean. Hope he goes fast.

TWD and horror movies in general always need a character that the audience wants to see get it! Remember Paul Riser in Aliens? The crowd went nuts when he finally got munched.

Yeah, I'm worried he's gonna turn out to be a pain.... That's why I came up with the parallel with doctor Smith in the Lost in Space series..... Dishonest, scheming, self serving, resource grabbing pain in the ....

There is potential for him to ship up and turn into a survivor though....

I hope you're wrong about him being Dr. Smith with zombies, and I hope you're right that he turns into a street smart survivor!!! ;)

They need Rick! I love the show, but to many little mistakes made by them as things unravel. To name one....they should have never split up...drag the druggie with ya and go get the rest of the gang.

I didn't see the 1st show as I was out of town. BUT, I watched the encore showing this past Sunday followed with the 2nd episode. So in a short 2.5 hours of wasted time. Very slow, not enough killing (wish the dope head would disappear) just simply not impressed. Oh I'll keep watching it for a little while but if it doesn't measure up, I will be off to something else.

Maybe I'm just being weird but they are trying to cram so many dynamics into this main family that it semi forced. I know they are trying to make a family of characters that many different viewers can relate to but it seems very (for lack of a better term) scripted. You've got the Lilly white mom with the junky son and a daughter who is in a biracial relationship, and then you've got the Latino dad who argues with his ex wife every time they talk because the son doesn't get along with him. All that's missing is Bruce Jenner and a partridge in a pear tree.

This IMHO is where TWD and FTWD missed a huge opportunity...

When folks first make the change, be it by death or by bite (perhaps the same thing, never understood that), they should be World War Z-style FAST zombies!

How cool would it have been in TWD for Shane to have opened Hershel's shed seasons ago to have the decomposed, slow zombies come crawling out, but then have Carol's daughter (freshly-zombified) come running out full-blast screaming like a banshee and attacking someone?

FTWD would be cooler with fast zombies, just my .02. Who am I kidding, I'll watch both either way! Really the only show I watch. Best to all.

Prof.

just watched the first episode - then i thought - lets see if the busse forum guys got a thread about it... :D

i like it - so far it looks promising - but gotta watch the second episode before i read any posts

You guys! Fast zombies make the world go round! Isn't that how that song goes?

I never got how if someone got bit they acquired super human strength and speed...of course, if I can get past the coming back to life thing...
