Fear the Walking DEad? *possible spoilers* read at own risk

I never got how if someone got bit they acquired super human strength and speed...of course, if I can get past the coming back to life thing...

Jacked up adrenal glands maybe? Either way, I've never been a fan of movies that had the fast zombies.

I find that those super human zombie shows are scarier to watch, simply because running for years from them just isn't possible. They always catch you. The walkers (TWD) however aren't that fast, which makes s life of running seen more possible....

Good point -- but now it's my turn to be nerdy --- the slow decalcification is what leads the older zombies to get mushy heads. I'm assuming the decalcification process begins with the interior of the bone and works its way out. The skull doesn't have anything inside it to reinforce it -- therefore when the bones become brittle and weak the skull caves in. The Femur (which is tough as hell) doesn't break as easily because the zombies body mass has dropped so significantly and given the way the zombies walk -- the impact force is very minimal. It's entire plausible to assume that some of the zombies who end up crawling -- do so because their leg bones have broken (maybe they're super old).

I wonder what happens to zombies when it gets really cold outside. Do they turn into popsicles until spring?

after watching the second episode i must say i like the show so far - really promising - also made me realize that i finally need to buy the missing parts for my AR build, and get more ammo and water :D

I second that....glad I'm not the only one with my eyes open. The way it looks...a zombie apocalypse would be easier than what this country has coming.

I got this to cover both.

HOooo.......Hoooo.....Hoooo!!!!......I know the answer to that one!!!!!

Being in Canada, you might have heard that winters get pretty cold.....well.... That would slow zombies down even more!...
People would just walk around with a beer in one hand and some assorted tool in the other. Say a cricket bat, golf club, baseball bat, shovel, hammer, chain with a large pad lock at one end (no, wait, that's prohibited in Canada), poker for a fireplace, bowling pin, pool balls in the bottom of nylon stockings.... You get the picture, hey ;)

Just swing that instrument and whack 'em upside the head! It could replace hockey as our national sport!:D

I've always thought the same thing. Wait for the first hard freeze and go around with a ball pein hammer and safely shatter as many skulls as you can find.

I think the hard skull thing is more of a tiny steak knife vs thick forehead thing. In TWD they are using thicker knives and targeting weaker points like eye sockets, temples, and ear holes(whatever that is called). These folks haven't figured out what it takes to kill them yet.

I'm going to venture a guess about the faster and stronger walkers with less "mushy" bone structure. They stated in an older TWD episode that they were starving, so perhaps without nutrients, their systems are wearing out. In FTWD, they are all "new" and like a new watch are wound up tight.

Just a few hours until LA descends into chaos!...unlike its usual calm peaceful way of life...

Well it is still making me wish TWD would start. Not gotten much better.

That soldier sure had a GFS on that one

Society going under, kinda martial law, I think it's getting better. Getting a feel for which characters are realistic and which ones have false hopes

Maybe this one was a little better but still slow. I do like the barber.

Amazing how shocked and unprepared for trouble the people are; after all, haven't they ever seen riots and such in L.A.???

It will be interesting to see how the government and army will handle this..... We know how it all turns out though....

I'll tell you this ....I would not be sitting around, playing monopoly, after I've seen a neighbour get attacked.
