Feedback Needed: Dark Ops Stratofighter (Actual Experience Only)

I see you continually trying (and failing) to discredit me, while avoiding the issues at hand.
Everyone else can see it too. Posting a link to a thread featuring that clown noss4 doesn't bolster your position at all.

It is also pretty obvious that "what you understand" is as limited as your scruples.

You're right, a thread about noss4 would have a hard time discrediting anyone. A thread however where a respected member of these forums who also happens to be a moderator berates you for acting far out of the lines of respect and reason and then warns you and others to back off or be banned does do a pretty good job.

BTW I don't think Cold Steel or SOG payed BM A cent as the lock they are using is different than BM'S. Same type yet different enough to get around the patent. If they had payed I'd think it would be the same as BM'S.

You are wrong, Cold Steel does pay BM a licensing fee.

Lawsuits are expensive, even if you win.ER is from Italy,so that makes things even more problematic. Now let's say Dark-ops price and quality are excellent,no argument from me there, not really the issue.Even though the legal issue is between ER and DO,as a consumer with morals and ethics I can show my displeasure by not purchasing a product. If we all stood up for what is right, low sales would get the message accross to companies who make knock-offs,close copies and such.Threads like this are benificial, as they also expose whom I may not wish to conduct business with, that exhibit poor morals and unethical traits.

I have one and got tired of reading the 40 posts about design stealing etc, i didnt think i would like it all that much after reading the posts on here previously, i do have to say it locks up tight, and is very grippy, the extra safety lock thing is a joke though so i took it out (its easy to remove or put back in) but other than that i have nothing bad to say about it. the adds are horrid, this is a very valid point. they do seem to have taken some designs from ER but i dont really like any of their knives so... i guess that doesnt affect me, if they had copied from strider maybe i would be more put off by that fact.

long story short, it seems to be a good knife, sturdy, tight lock up, decent fit and finish, nice pocket clip, horrid adds. worth the 250 imo, but for that id by a zero tolerance.

here is a pic of my lightly customized one, to cheer the thread up a bit...

oh yeah, it brownie pops open quite easily. ;)

Brownie, I thought Bladeforums was rid of your dumb ass. Did you come back to finally offer us your credentials, or spew incessant B.S.?

I smell B.S. once again spewing from your hole. I'm suprised that the real operators and ex LEO's from 'your forum' haven't seen right through your B.S. and Brownie popped you in the kiester.

Someone hasn't done their reading...."First & foremost, remember the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself, in other words, BE NICE. When you are polite to people, they will tend to be polite back to you." That means no personal attacks. But way to show you're supreme level of maturity anyways. :grumpy:

This incessant backbiting is what makes this and other threads a bore.

Can't we all settle down and act like mature adults who are truly trying to gain information? If you can contribute to your actual experience with the stratofighter then fine, otherwise STFU.

The question was sincere and so should the responses.

Have you guys ever noticed that when threads are started about certain knife manufacturers, that they will inevitably degrade into individual members flaming each other, and get totally away from the initial gist of the thread?

It's due to just a handful of posters. Sure, some threads attract brand new accounts for a bit of flaming, but I don't doubt for a minute it's those same trolling, flaming pivot-men rushing to the other forums to complain about people here not listening to them preach the gospel.

Mr. Smegma,

You are way out of line.

To be fair he did ask that only people who've used one respond; at least he tried to keep this from happening.

Well, it appears that you did not read my entire post... And both of you are accusing me of making trouble by starting this thread??

It would help if you two would follow the statements posted. . . . .

First, wasr10fmj posted. . . . .

you should have specified at the start to ONLY respond to this thread if you have ectual experience with this knife and DO NOT even post here if you dont have experience with it.

It's very clear that wasr10fmj missed the title of this thread and the very first post.

Second, I quoted the necessary information that shows that "only actual experience" with the knife was being sought. It was clear to me, and was reflected in the title and very first sentences in the first post, that GunHand was aware of the previous threads about a particular DorkOps knife and as such, posted a very deliberate title in an attempt to thwart a repeat of the past.

No slam, no ill intent, or "accusing anyone of making trouble by starting this thread."

Great knee-jerk though. If asked to award points, as they do in many competitions, you both would receive. . . .
perfect10s.gif
. . . .for your knee-jerk execution.

I can't believe some of the people here... People like you make me sick.:jerkit:

You started a thread about a topic that you knew was controversial. Actually, "controversial" doesn't begin to cover it. You must have known that many of us have visceral feelings about design appropriation (theft, to make it clearer). What were you expecting, peace and flowers? I can't see how an honest person can condone immoral and illegal dealings just because they happen to like that particular product. And if you're sickened by my attitude, Rat's attitude, the attitude of a lot of people here, then perhaps you would be happier someplace else.

Aside from the ads and my perception of style, it sounds like DO actually makes a decent knife in function, no worse than some Bucks or Kershaws I own that have disfunctional liner locks. Certainly heavy duty.

Thanks to the original poster for asking about real world performance from users about the physical knife. We got to see some "road test" info and photo's to choose for ourselves.

And we discovered the world is not flat after all.

First off, I did not ask about your inexperience of the product nor your opinion about it. I asked the people who has first hand experience of the product. Why do you think that is bad? That's what the forum is here for. People like you are the one starting trouble by reading this thread and posting crap about the owners and spewing your nonsensical opinion about this product which I do not need. But you coming here attacking me for some reason is not acceptable. You are a bunch of trolls and should not be tolerated. People like you are the ones who like to cause trouble and would like to seek unecessary attention.

So what do you call this forum now? BLADES THAT ARE ONLY LIKED FORUM?

What a f$$$in LOSER!:jerkit: :jerkit:

You stink and you know it. I can't believe I am being attacked here. Moderators should kick your butt and the trouble causing midgets like you.

Enough said.:grumpy:  :thumbdn: :thumbdn:

You are much welcome. I posted because I was seeking for some valuable info as well. Not just some opinion of people who does not have experience about the product...

Sorry you have to read through all those crap.

Why I never!

This is terrible. This incessant bickering has got to stop! You're knife collectors for crying out loud!

So what if some of you are completely wrong in your way of thinking, can't we all try and get along here?......

....Be chums, doggonit.

Listen up, shortie. You apparently haven't been here long enough to figure out the way things work here. First of all, your post is personally offensive, and that, sonny boy, can get you banned. Second, I don't see you addressing the ethical question that has been raised. You may not want to deal with it, but it's there and it won't go away.

Agreed. You can't expect to bring something like this up and have everyone completely ignore the darker side of things. To ALOT of people, the company the knife is made by has a STRONG influence on there opinion of the product. In this case, DO has alot of bad attributes and questionable practices. No matter how good there products may be, this will always over-shadow anything they make.

You are the one w/ no originality. I have already called you and your friends a midget and you are calling me shortie?? Funny since you are so focused about originality and copycats!:foot:

You are the one who's attacking and you should be the one to be banned. Did I personally attack someone anywhere other where I am attacked?

Voi ragazzo perso, in modo da voi ottenete più meglio la vostra estremità spiacente al vostro Mama. :D
