Feedback or Wish list for thing you would like to see from EKI

I would like to see a 3-inch Commander, around the size of the XM-18 3-inch. I think that blade profile is much more usable than other smaller Emersons (and most all production knives, for that matter), and that the usable characteristics of the Commander blade would make a smaller knife in the 3-inch size range much more usable than many more conventional shapes/grinds.

The Mini Ritter Griptilian and 3-inch XM-18 (among others) is proof that buyers want a high-performance knife in this size with a super useful blade and that a 3-inch knife is a much more useful tool when you have a blade shape/grind as such.

Micro-Commander. Still have some left in stock.

- A Super CQC-7 with black handles and a V grind so the other side can be sharpened easier if desired.

Ernie gets to keep his design philosophy of the chisel grind being so important, but a customer can easily throw a re-profile on it if desired.

He's mentioned he makes Chevys, not Cadillacs. Excluding the customs, of course. At $1500.00, those are now Lamborghinis, anyway. :)

Chevys are easily modified with aftermarket parts. The 7 should have a model that can be sharpened on both sides but not have to come with a tan handle.

- Tapped for left side carry from the factory. I put two clips on many of my knives so when carrying my gun I can carry the knife on my weak side.

- A limited amount of replacement scales available. Digi camo, for instance. Could be made to order so a bunch of inventory would not have to be sitting on shelves. How long would it take to insert a few digi blanks (say 10-15) in place of black ones while a production was run. It also would allow customers to swap out scales. Once again, a Chevy is easily modified.

Or maybe I should get off my ass and begin making them, and selling them, like Americans used to do. Shame on me, really. :chargrined:

Reason being, a friend that turned me on to Emerson knives owns a CQC7 in which the G10 is so smooth, and with the lack of a choil on the 7 design it actually is unsafe. A new set of scales and he'd not have to worry about cutting the crap outta his fingers using it, and it would not be expensive. If it were mine I'd have to take it out of service. Too risky.

On that note: if he sent it in for service, could the new "grippier" scales be put on it? Or could they be blasted?

Good post IMO. I've wondered about the scales before. Could they actually get smooth enough (like some I've seen that were nodded) after say eight years.....to the point that would be an issue? I hope not. :-l

A 7V blade with a socfk handle.

Don't the 7 and SOCFK-B have identical blade profiles? I guess it'd just be a V ground SOCFK in that case. I don't actually own a 7 tanto, though I have a 7AW and SOCFK-B.

I am a long time user of Emerson knives, and I have enjoyed the ability to get some work done with a 15 in my hand. I would really like to see the HD-7. I never owned one and missed the chance to buy one on the secondary market. As such, I guess I can have one of my CQC-7 folders converted.

...and a slightly wider blade along with the handle that is different from the CQC7.
I had a Sebenza and my HD7 arrive the same day and the HD7 went right in my pocket.

I would like to see a custom shop for production models. So that way you could have your Emerson pimped by the factory and still have the warranty intact.

It's fine. Like I've said before anything's possible. EKI isn't close minded and there may be a future alternative to the cool skull clips.

That's cool. I apologize my friend. I shouldn't get like that over nothing. Especially on a forum where we're supposed to be having an enjoyable time.

I am a hot head at times especially if someone doesn't see things my way (I am noticing this of myself more and more). I know you have a lot to juggle. You're doing an awesome job here and we are all very privileged to have you with us. You're always quickly on top of things and offer great information.

Again, I know I was wrong. Thanks for giving me the time to figure that out!

On another note, I just ordered that 2014 Super Commander with standoffs. NationalKnives.com. After I ordered it, I went back to look at the item again and it said, sold out. I must have bought the last one! I'm super psyched and will be taking pictures and all.

So I'm wishing for....A speedy delivery! Can you swing that for me?

Edit to add: That apology is directed toward everyone involved in the thread as well.
