Fehrman knives

Let us know how the knife works out for you.

I've been eyeing that Extreme Judgment awful hard, once the FS gets here that may be my next Ferhman.

My experience both with Eric personally and his products is nothing but positive. I got PM and Thru Hiker. PM was ordered on 05 May, shipped out on 18 June and dropped in my hand on 03 July. Provided that i live in another planet :) - CIS region (former USSR) - deliovery speed was fantastic! I asked Eric for certain specific shipping arrangements - he responded personally at once and did everything I asked for.

Both PM and Thru Hiker are great. Although I've got Fallkniven F1, Zero Tolerance ZT0100 and Bark River Fox River - PM has become my favourite fix for camping and hunting. Perfect combination of steel, ergos, fit and finish!

Eric, thanks for your blades!

OK I just wanted to run a little test today:D so I ordered the Extreme Judgement (Satin), and a Last Chance (Satin). Just to see how long it will take to get here.

Not really, I visited there site this morning and could not help myself. I ended up calling to see what models they were working on, the Last chance was not one of them but I had to have it. :D

I did ask about different handle materials, and was told that they had Orange G10 I think. I also asked about the sizes of the handles on the ones I have on order Last Chance, First Strike, and Extreme Judgment. They are all the same size.

I just received a used Thru Hiker from another forum member. I love this little beast but I thought the handle would be longer. I'm thinking of grinding down the tail beak to just above the lanyard hole..... or selling it for something else. I don't think this'll be my last Fehrman though.

i have a thru hiker coming and i'm pretty excited about it.
too bad about the handle, i hope my large hands will find it useful without grinding the beak off.

Eric said he designs his knives for medium size hands. he also told me he doesnt get many knives sent back to him because the handles are too small. i think most people in the knife community either trade knives that don't work well, or mod them. Brian T ground off the back part of his handle, shown below.

Dang! That's a good lookin' knife there. :D

I need to get an in-hand shot to show how it sits differently in the hand now...

yes. please do. in-hand shots would help a lot.
i ordered an Easy Open. maybe i can play with that first to find a handle shape a like, then transfer that shape to my Thru Hiker.

It has been mentioned earlier that the price of CPM 3V suddenly doubled last fall. What was a $60 chunk of 3V became a $120 chunk of 3V, virtually overnight.
That may not be the whole story, however, keep in mind we are in the middle of a recession too.

Is it me or Fehrman prices got up lately (lasta months )

Yes, the prices have risen.
As mentioned before, 3V prices shot up recently.

However, Fehrmans prices were very reasonable before this happend. I would actually say they were a bargain. The new prices, although higher, are equal to the quality you get.

Three years ago today, I bought my first Fehrman.
I now own 4 of them.

Wow - I bought an Extreme Judgement (satin) in Nov for $415.00 today it is $540.00. I feel that I would still pay the $540 for the knife if I had to buy today --- it is simply awesome! I own a few Busse's and a few Swamprat's and the Fehrman is my favorite of the bunch.
