Thanks to the generosity of WSS regular and BF dealer storl, we will have the opportunity to do a passaround of the Fenix TK40, which is an LED flashlight that uses 8 AA batteries and delivers 630 lumens of darkness elimination.
Here is the link to the TK40 on storl's website.
BushcraftBrainTrust was an early adopter and wrote an excellent review of the light here. Since I haven't received the light from storl and I'm kissing up to BCT, hopefully he won't mind me stealing a picture here.
If you'd like to participate in this passaround, read the rules below and then post here that you would like to. By doing so, you are agreeing to abide by the rules.
Passaround Rules
I'll start the list here to show the open slots, but not necessarily order.

Passaround Rules
- Eligibility - This passaround will be limited to stateside participants who are WSS regulars and have been BF members for at least six months. (If storl is willing and there is sufficient interest, we could then send it north of the border for a seperate Canadian passaround.)
- Number of Participants - The passaround will be limited to 10 participants, including me.
- Treatment - This is NOT a torture test. Use the light but do not abuse it. It should be passed on to the next participant (and back to storl) in like-new condition.
- Responsibility - If you receive the light and it appears damaged, contact me (NOT storl) immediately so we can talk to the prior participant. If you damage or lose this light, you will be liable to storl for its purchase price. If th elight is damaged or lost in transit from you, you are responsible for pursuing a claim with the post office. If the light is lost or damaged in transit and it was not properly packaged or insured (in violation of these rules) you will be responsible to storl for the full replacement price. (He also mentioned something about a kick in the balls.)
- Pictures - Take pictures and post them!
- Review - Post your thoughts on this light, including design, fit-and-finish and suitability for varius circumstances.
- Time Limit - Try to pass the light on to the next participant within a few days. The good news is that it gets dark every day, so you should have ample opportunity to try it out. At the outside, you should not be holding on to this light for more than a week.
- Box - Keep track of the box and any accessories, paperwork, etc. that came with the light and treat them with care. They are to be passed along with the light.
- Shipping - After you have had your turn, ship the light to the next participant by USP Priority Mail. Package it so that the light and everything else is well protected.
- Insurance & Delivery Confirmation - Insure the light for $185.00 and make sure to get delivery confirmation.
- Keeping Track - Email me when you have received the light. When you ship it, email me the tracking number.
I'll start the list here to show the open slots, but not necessarily order.
