I just clicked the 'buy now' button on a Cold Steel Ti-Lite 6" aluminum. I have absolutely no practical use for this thing, nor have I ever owned a Cold Steel product before. :o

Sure would make me feel better hearing about some of your outrageous/silly/ridiculous/novelty impulse buys...:D

Thanks for reading! :)

Oh jeez...

I've had a lot of impulse buys. Right now I have the Army version of the USMC Kabar sitting in my drawer just because I was on a big popular website and saw it listed by 'warehouse deals' at a discount price. I will most likely end up selling it.

A lot of times I buy a knife for the price, as long as I think there's a chance I could end up liking it. Did that with a Kershaw Blackout, didn't like it.

I'm sure I've had many many more but only those come to mind at the moment.

Battle axe and sword set (Last of the Legend series). I don't have a use for a twin blade, half moon, 18 inch cutting edge x2, or a 4lb+ Viking bastard sword.

In fact, I have no use for the Viking shield either.

Nor do I have real use for the 6'5" pole axe in the corner. (though with that one, at least for about 7 year or so, I kept it mounted on pick handles I shaped to fit the eye, and used it for throwing!).

All my Busse are really just shiny toys that I do use, but not enough to justify the purchase. Really, I don't need a 12 inch bladed Khukri made out of expensive steel. I only get to chop with it ever once in a while. I don't take it camping or canoe camping etc (I do take the Busse B11 and a few other smaller lighter fixed blades, but the Machete seems to do the job just fine, and if I lost it, I would be a lot less sad).

Does that help?

US Army KaBar 9/11 Commemorative. The guy at the counter told me this version was hard to come by.
Bear and Son Damascus double edge fighting knife. Thought it was cool looking.
SOG Pentagon Elite 1--Had one 15 years ago, lost it, thought I'd buy a new one since I liked it back then, got it and don't like it.
A lot of my knives that I purchased recently were bought to make me feel better as I was really depressed. 2013 has been a rough year for me, but I'm doing better now. Hopefully 2014 will be a better year for me and my family.

Pretty much everything I buy falls into that category... ;):D

Just a small sample of some of mine; heck even the ZT0350 was not needed but I got it anyway. (It's my third one!)

This should make you feel a LOT better: I bought a Franklin Mint Count Dracula folding knife.....secondary market.....long after I joined Bladeforums and learned what I have about what makes a knife a good knife.

I'm a big fan of the book; what can I say?

Cold Steel Tanto...Kobun I think.
Actually a nice knife for the cost. It took a much better edge than I expected and is more rugged than I expected.
I have no need or use for it but it was an impulse.

1. A Hibben Bowie clone that weighed about 6 pounds and would rust in the Atacama Desert.
2. A United Cutlery M48 Tomahawk (was watching too many zombie shows).
3. Cold Steel XL Voyager

I still own the M48... You never know.....

Thank you for this.:)

Boker Kalashnikov 101
Cheers

My kukri.... I almost never use it, but would feel helpless if it wasnt next to my bed.

Buck Ready Point and Metro. Plus a tiny Buck that has a small blade, bottle opener and looked kinda like a fish. They were cheap and odd looking.

A SOG Fish On. Has a clip that looks like a fish, it's green with what appears to be scales and when you open the blade, it makes a clicking sound like the drag on a fishing reel. I have absolutely no use for it.

Not exactly a silly knife, or an inexpensive knife, but I bought a black Brous Blades Division Flipper a little while ago. That thing was absolutely ridiculous. Ridiculously nice, ridiculously smooth but also one of the most murderous looking blades I've ever seen. Pretty sure if I would have pulled it out in public people would have hit the floor in panic.

I am a sucker for O.T.F. Auto's ,brass knuckles, and push daggers. Those sort of things.
