Thanks for all the compliments. I still haven't achieved bonafide's runt status or even approached willic's bushfinger collection. But I will keep trying. ;) I've actually let many go that weren't quite comfortable for me. There are several configs out there I'm still looking for that I haven't been able to shark yet. They seem to be few and far between. However, if anyone has one they are willing part with, here's the short list I'm willing to pay handsomely for (always have to throw out the sharking plea..:D):

BC, Buckeye Burl, TT lime over black
BC, Black bolster with oreo shadetree
BC or BC Sr. - Evergreen shadetree, preferably TT with lime or yellow over black
BC, Emerald or Oreo shadetree with black pins
Scandi BC - any config but there's a blue G10 floating around that would be a grail
Hasco's glow-in-the dark emerald BC. :D

I have few that I use way more then the others. Oddly enough, the first one I bought is still my favorite - the 5/32 TT slate G10 3rd from the right. That's probably my favorite Fiddleback and the cause of all this. The OD blueback micarta is a 1/8 full height grind and is the lightest of the bunch. Freakishly light. It probably gets carried the most and is always in my truck and/or backpack. When I take a Sr. it's always the desert ironwood - the SFT tang balances the length nicely and it has some heft for heavier chores. I baby the curly koa one and haven't had the two bolstered ones long enough to use them much. Other favorites that feel the best are the bocote and the sapphire - both 5/32 TT. I also really like the buckeye burl and orange, it's 3/16 with a TT. Interesting contrast, because of the forward balance. I like the 3/4 to full grinds better. But they are all have special attributes and are keepers.

I'd love to get several examples of the BC Jr., but the first one up on FF was the only handle config I've seen so far that I really wanted and I wasn't fast enough. I can wait to try one of those in 1/8 and synthetic.

That green BEB is a gorgeous knife. Heck they all are. A BC is really the only pattern I haven't been able to snag yet that I'm pining for. They just go so fast I' have to meditate to keep patient :-) Killer collection.

Phillip,

Thanks for the updated photos of the master Bushcrafter collection. You have assembled a tremendous variety of handle materials, grind heights, and steel thicknesses in that group. My humble collection of four BC's and one BC Sr. seems meager by comparison. I am looking forward to comparing notes with you firsthand.

Phil

Superb group of green there Tod! What are your initial thoughts on the new Leuku? I love that Evergreen over black combo.

Phil

^
That is the coolest spalting I've seen!
I'm not a fan of green but I would love to have that knife.

That awesome Bushcrafter of yours belongs in the Fiddleback Hall of Fame.........nice grouping of green Fiddies !

Thanks for all the nice comments gentlemen. The bushcrafter really is something else. It feels great in the hand too. I haven't used the asp much and even considered letting it go, but every time I pick it up I am amazed. It feels perfect in the hand. Truly the work of a master knife maker. The bolstered westinghouse woodsman I got from Will is the same way. I don't know what I would use it for, but to hold the thing is really a special experience. I walked around the house with that thing in my hand all day once. I think it might have helped with the solicitor problem we have been having.

Phil - I think the leuku is a keeper for me. I will say that I will have to measure the thickness. It looks to me to be made of 3/16" stock and not 5/32". It is feels weighty in the hand in a I could do anything sort of way. I like the evergreen and black combo.

Great set of mucks for sure. The wood one in the middle really does it for me. Thanks for sharing Bush and great pic...

way to muck up the thread :D sorry, couldn't stop myself.

seriously though, great collection and dig the way you arranged them for the photo.

That is a stunning group of Muks. I really like that photo layout.

What are your thoughts on the new models? Which one do you like better?

Thanks for sharing!

Great pic Bush.Hacker and I absolutely love that MiniMuk!

(that is what Andy decided to call it right? the 3rd one from the left)

Thank you all. Baby had me up late last night so I was playing around with a DIY light tent. I need to work on that setup some more or just stop being so cheap and invest in a pop-up box.

I do plan on a more in-depth review (when time allows), and will use your wonderful work as well as others on the forum as a guide. Early assessment is that I will always have at my disposal a Camp Nessie/Kodiak, regular Nessmuk and a Minimuk. These I hope to wear out or pass down when I am good and ready to expire. I have always liked the FB Nessmuk pattern, but the Camp Nessmuk is just sublime. I am really excited over the Minimuk, and I would be REALLY excited if they ever bumped the size up to a regular Nessmuk. If there was ever a reason needed to break a duplicate rule, any of these three would be a good cause. I'm still warming up to the stubby and shortmuks.

Yes sir. I love it.

Beautiful set of muks!!!!! That minimuk is cool looking. I can't wait to hear more of your thoughts on it.
