Fiddleback Collections

Updating my collection to show addition of Big Mitt. A five pointed leaf for five knives. Each of these knives does at least one task that the others can't or don't do as well. Each is very different in size and configuration. All get used nearly every day.

Very nice!

Thanks Tony. We like it when those big leaves start coming down. This year with all the rain they're soon soggy like giant Wheaties flakes left in the bowl, but some years when it's drier, they make quite a scene in a wind.

Nice variety of timber Abe. Your clear and crisp photos always make wood look exceptional. The Ladyfinger is certainly beautiful, but my favorite wood in the batch is on your Bush Hermit.

Thanks for sharing this subset of your collection.

Thank you Phil. Appreciate your kind words.

I'm having a tough time deciding between the ironwood and spalted maple of the Ladyfinger.

Ironwood has been my favourite till now but the spalted maple might just have a slight edge.

Great set Abe! There all beautiful, but I'm digging on the Osage custom Kephart. Let me know if you wanna send her back to the States.;)

Nice photos Abe, speaking of which you how you liking that 3/32 Bushfinger you have as your avatar picture?

Abe, that Ladyfinger is gorgeous!

IMO, Spalted maple and maple burl are highly underrated. Though, I too am torn between ironwood and maple:

Wow, those are really nice. What color are the pins in the Bushfinger?

Wow Sergio! I had no idea you managed to acquire that beautiful Old School Ladyfinger. That's gorgeous as is the Bushfinger. I'm partial to the looks of the Old Lady these days. I hope to score one of those in 3/32" with a synthetic handle and black pins eventually to complete my list.

Congratulations on those epic scores!

Thanks Todd. The 3/32 BF is a very handy knife. It performs flawlessly in the kitchen, have not had the chance to take it outdoors as yet but am sure that it will hold up very well. Like it a lot

Thanks Sergio. Your IW lady is stunning!!!!

Brown/tan canvas. It's an old school Bushfinger from 2011 (You can see the exposed tang at the butt end), so Andy may have acquired different material back then. The canvas pins today seem to be lighter in color.

Thanks Phil. I had some help on the Lady. As you know, there are some great folks here. The ironwood on this one is superb. I surely hope you're able to find an Old Lady to your liking :p

The Bushfinger was my very first Fiddleback and one of my all-time favorites. I can remember opening the package from Andy and just being in awe of how nice it was. As Danny stated, the maple burl can look like a fine painting.
