Tony, I'm sorry to hear about your father. I will be praying for him and your family to find peace and strength.

Good for you Dave, you obviously are a good person at heart. People like you are rare anymore. Kindness to those that deserve it shouldn't be overlooked. :)

James 1:27- 27*- The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation, and to keep oneself without spot from the world.

Tony, just read your post regarding your father. I'm keeping you all in my prayers.

Tony- Sorry to hear about your dad. We will keep you in our prayers a and thoughts.

You guys are tremendous. Thanks.

It's been a long slow decline. The family is ready. We've all said our goodbyes, and made our peace. My biggest conflict is which knife I will lay in his casket. My ol' man was one that could appreciate a nice knife!

I believe Adam from Valkyrie could use some prayers, smoke or positive vibes sent his way.
I just received a text from him that said his Grandmother was rushed to the hospital.

Tony, praying for your father.

And for Adam's grandmother.

Hey, I got some good news for the center. I'm pretty sure that after 25 years of life near the sea (I was in the Navy) that we're trading the threat of hurricanes for the threat of tornados. Yep, instead of my wife having to move around with me on the Navy's whim, I'm going to move with her to Kansas City (far, far away from the sea; but from from what I hear, just as flat.) By chance any of you guys know anything about KC or want to buy a house in Coastal Virginia/ Suffolk/ Tidewater / Norfolk / Norfolk-Virginia Beach (or whatever they want to try to brand us as this week)...

Every time I've traveled through Kansas and Missouri, Kansas City was always an oasis. Good luck with the move.

Well ladies and gents, thanks to all for your kind words and support and prayers. My father passed peacefully earlier this afternoon.

I am humbled and blessed and grateful. His last words to me were to call my name and tell me that he loved me. What more could anyone ask for.

So tonight there will be smoke and fire. And the finest steak that I can buy. And glasses will be raised. Root beer, since I don't drink. But my Dad loved him some root beer!

My Father!

I'm sorry for your loss...
To a life well led, I salute your father, and your family.

Tony - you and your family will be in our prayers.

To your father - Rest easy soldier, your duty is done.

I'm sorry for your loss Tony, I can empathize. I'll grab some of my daughter's root beer and raise a glass too. To Angelo John Mele!

Tony, I still remember this story you wrote about your father.

For what it's worth...

I grew up in a family business. Every day we'd serve 500+ people. And every day we'd get at least one (if not two or three) very vocal complaints. And my father would just shrug these off. I asked him why, and he taught me his "Rule of the Numbers". He said that if one, or even two people out of 500 complained about the lasagne...we were doing great. We actually should expect at least one or two people to be unhappy out of 500! It was if we hit some threshold - which he never defined - that he would then take a look at the lasagne!

I have no clue what the drama is, as I'm new here. But considering the number of visitors, and the incredible competition for your product - from the flea market to the shark auction to the vendor sites - and the fierce loyalty and genuine admiration and respect members demonstrate on here, I'd suspect there are 498 people right now who are lining up to support Fiddleback Forge. The other two...well...my dad will gladly serve them lasagne.
