Looking for a black or blue burlap asp or Sneaky Pete.
I know at least one exists because I found this picture:

I've looked through fotki and the collector's thread and cannot find it.
If you have one, I'd like to buy it or trade for this brand new asp:

Skystorm had an Asp for sale like that in post 4262 on page 214. I don't think that it sold.

Wow!
Nice detective work, thank you Mr. Mayem!
I'm tempted but I'm hoping for blue or black on red or white

Don't set your heart on just one. Take it from me, as soon as sure exactly which fiddleback you want, you're guaranteed to never see it again. Keep your mind pure and the blade will find you, grasshopper.

Also you're wading with a lot of sharks looking for those black shadetrees, including myself. They sell instantly. You might wanna take that asp if your set on a blue shadetree and just sell it if your Grail appears.

Also WAS takes custom orders out of the same shop with the same materials. His stuff is on par with Andy's just not as established yet so his stuff can be had at a bit of a discount. Check out his file work man.

Btw, your current asp is gorgeous. I'd just go use that one.

I was worried about stoking the shadetree coals, but I'm giving it a shot because I know this Asp is great bait.
At noon today, I was sitting under a cell phone tower to see if I could get a sub 60 second post at gametime, only to see no sp's or Asp's.
This is madness. I want it to end. You're all geeks!!!
I just gave my WAS Shark away as a gift, perhaps there is some o1 spalted karma in denim .
More than anything, I'm astounded by the output of Andy's shop. This is a cool bug to have.

The bushfinger doesn't appear to be one of the more purple looking black burlaps. Is this correct? Is it spalted? Kinda hard to tell. Also, if you're familiar with a G10 spyderco bushcraft, would you say the handle is of comparable thickness to that? That's the biggest standard handle I can think of.

Not really, the color is pretty black/gray with very little "purple" tint to it... It is spalted, but the spalting is very light with little black coloring in the recessed areas.

The handle at its widest part appear to approx. 7/8 of an inch.

I bet that handle is incredibly comfortable for extended use. If I could afford more than 1 fiddleback I'd be all over it. But since I know I'm going to use the hell out of it immediately, prolly best to wait for the details I want before I kill the top shelf trade/resell value of one.

Someone's gonna get a hell of a bushfinger though. Where's that dude who was just looking for black burlap yesterday? He's gonna kick himself, this'll be gone real soon.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Here are a couple more photos of Tha Baron’s black burlap Bushfinger for reference. It is a very nice variation with the thicker grip. The black burlap has a bluish tint depending upon the light. I know because I sold this knife to Jon.

Hope this helps someone make a decision. Jon is a good guy to deal with and I wish him luck with the sale.

Hell of a nice gift. All the better if it went to a knife person who can appreciate it. Very generous of you. The wood in that shark was very nice.
