With apologies for munging the flea market, but I've a ? on why folks post a series of .s in thread.

I've seen it in several threads and by multiple folks but can't figure out why.

I originally thought it was a fast way to subscribe to a thread but am not sure if that is the case here.

Can someone please explain?

The reason why I do the whole "....." Is because- I usually went back and edited/erased a previous post and in the wonderful world of Bladeforums.com you can't leave a post completely empty. You must leave it with at least five characters. So "....." Is what you get from me.

I also do it to be mysterious...:D

Now let's get back to flipping blades.

Simply a way to edit your post...

WTT: looking to trade for a <4" model in cpm-154; preferably in natural hard wood (blackwood, bloodwood, cocobolo, ironwood, etc). Got something along these lines & interested in trading, hit me up!

Up for trade is my new and recently acquired 2015 0102 22 – KE Bushie w/ Rattlesnake burlap over natural w/ lime pinstripes, SFT Tang, convex on 1/8” spalted 01 steel - I am digging the knife but I am looking for a different Handle material. I really like the ivory handles I've seen as well as the black wood. If anyone has such a KE.... I'm interested!

Baron,
Do you know the overall length of your recluse? and does it come with a sheath?

You need to be gold to sell here... If you are already gold you have to manually update your status in user settings.

Just to clarify a little more, it's also not allowed for a registered member to start a Trade thread. They can respond to one, but not start one.

A reminder of the Fiddleback Flea Market Rules

These are the rules as far as I know and come straight from the Rules For The Exchange & Discussion Forums - (All Rules Apply Site-Wide) UPDATED 3/1/14

PLATINUM or GOLD - Platinum or Gold members are allowed to post in any of the Individual For Sale or Trade forums. They may sell items in the For Sale By Individuals, and can list items for Trade as well.

BASIC MEMBERS - Basic members are not allowed to post items for sale. You may post items for Trade in the Wanted To Trade Forums, or post requests for items to purchase in the Wanted To Buy Forums.

REGISTERED USERS - The first level of membership. If you have not purchased a paid subscription, you are by default a Registered User. As such, you are very limited to posting areas in the Exchange. You may respond to threads where you mean to purchase an item, or trade. You are not allowed to create threads for Selling or Trading (but you may respond to existing ads). You do have the ability to create WTB threads.

Based on this:

Everyone including Registered Users can buy. Registered Users can post a Want to Buy. Registered Users cannot offer items for Sale or for Trade. So posts like "I have a Bushfinger that I'm willing to trade" are off limits for Registered Users unless they are responding to a specific Want to Trade post by a Basic or above user. GoldUser posts "I have a Kephart I want to trade and am looking for a Bushfinger". RegisteredUser responds with "I have a Bushfinger you might like for that Kephart" is OK.

Basic Members can post Items for Trade but not for sale.

Gold and above can post Items for Sale.

The Flea Market here in the Fiddleback Forums is to be considered part of the exchange and all the exchange rules apply. With the additional rule that Duder has mentioned:

"The buying and selling of Fiddleback items is allowed in THIS FORUM only under the Fiddleback Flea market which Andy is allowed to do since he has paid for it. Anything for sale outside of Fiddleback items is to be listed in The Exchange. There will be no exceptions to this rule."
