I heat with oil. For the last six years there are two seasons here, wood making season, and wood fetching and burning season. I figured I was too old to go fight Al Qaeda, but I refuse to fund the them if I can help it.

I'll take the Recluse to go along with my other tuxedo acquisitions this week.

Thanks man, I see a wood heater in my near future too. Thank you, I replied to your email. It will be a great hunting companion for that F2!

Congrats mist on the sales and McVeyMac on the pickups! Some great knives there.

Mist, I have no idea if it's economical or if they still a good heat source, but when my folks lived in the cold north of Idaho they used a Pellet Stove for heating. I remember when visiting a few times how it would put out some serious heat and kept the whole main level warm.

Seeing some of your shots, you might have a source of wood for a wood stove, so that might be a cheaper fuel source.

Keep Warm!

Thanks thurin. Which ever way you go Mist, the stove and the flew is the biggest expense. Then the saws, the ATV (not required, but is more fun than a Ranger pickup) and wagon, wood splitter. I am probably ahead of the game economically after six years. But, I work a lot of wood each year. We had gypse moths kill a bunch of oak trees five years ago or so, so there is no shortage of dead wood still standing. But it sure is a lot of work.

Tobs of work for sure. We buy cull logs, but burn 50 cord a year. Make suee the btu rating is enough or you will still buy lp.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll definitely explore my options and costs before I make a decision, I just need something besides the LP very badly. $3,000 a year on heating and cooking is a bit much.

Prepay as well. Not sure if they do it there, but it has saved us a ton this year. If they don't do it, try and find a company who does. Sorry if this is threadjacking.

Not to keep thread jacking...but first year here, lots to learn still. Thanks I'll look into it!

Now, back to the flea market :)

WTB: Fiddleback Hat; new or used...

I am looking as well. I posted a thread but then realized it wasn't allowed without a paid membership. I asked Andy about hats and he was out. Maybe we can hang up on him and get him to do another run.

Andy will refund your payment if that particular knife doesn't suit you (within a month & in unused condition). Probably better to wait until you have the actual knife in hand before posting. First, you don't even have the actual knife yet to sell & second you are not even sure if you want to sell it.
