Thanks for the support guys. And WTH. I use way less burlap now.
So Andy speaks. Nice. I have posted the same lament many times with no response. I have emailed you with no response. I'm a pariah on this board, I get it but my point is valid. You are a talented artist that has stubbornly stuck to a business model that alienates all but your most hardcore supporters. There are 20 regular posters here, maybe. My guess is FB Friday is a sad parade of the same 20 that frequent this dead forum. I remember when we used to trade ideas on the forum like how to turn off pics so FB Friday would load faster and you had a shot at landing "The One". The old dudes would give the young guns tips and tricks on landing anything, we didn't care what. You are the OG and have apprenticed many in your shop and indirectly through your vision and craftmanship. Your DNA is in every quality fixed blade made in the US today. The kids that came through your shop are your legacy and the backbone of American fixed blade craftsmanship. None of that happens without a fanatical core of fans that understands and appreciates your vision. Hate all you want but I don't see why you can't come up with a way to reward a loyal customer weekly or monthly with a knife made by the master built the way they want it. It is frustrating that I'm the d-bag here for suggesting you take your earned place as GF of American steel fixed blades then dedicate your time to mentoring and occasionally filling requests for your long-time loyal supports.

I know it has been a tough couple of years, it has been for everyone. Don't die on your sword for 20 dudes in dad jeans. Keep blazing the trail but throw your core a bone from time to time.

No hate from me Zharris. I really don't know how to appease your request though. I don't take orders for good reasons that I have explained ad nauseum.

Its about being creative and making knives and driving my designs myself at its heart. No 20 people direct my knifemaking. I didn't learn this until I quit making long bolsters because of negative opinions of them online. I have always regretted doing that. I still love the long bolsters. I allowed my art to be directed by an outside force in a negative way. I don't do that anymore.

I love the community that are interested in my knives. I hope you all, very much including zharris zharris , are enjoying my knives. IMO, you are not a pariah. Nothing personal here toward any customer.

Simply, order taking is not for me. The stress increase is more than palpable. The amount of communication necessary per knife is an order of magnitude more. The customer ordering their 'grail' knife is the hardest to please. Having a long order list means selling your work at an improved skill level without charging for that experience. Being able to direct my time myself, and my creativity myself is critical to me. I want to make what I love. When that doesn't sell anymore, I'll likely quit making knives.

Daughter decided she is ready for a handgun so drops on posts, 16096 and 16097 - Cohutta Camp Crafter and Pro Bushfinger.___ Both SOLD
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks Andy for continuing to be steadfastly YOU regardless. Although I don't feel as kind as you, I am laughing at the idea of someone, who is STILL not a customer saying "Dad Jeans" WTF are those?🤣

I might have an unsed Cohutta Puukko I'd be willing to sell. I could be wrong but I think you might have to be a gold member to do a transaction.
I'll look though my Cohuttas for the Puukko and post, later on this week if you're still interested.
I sent you a message, thanks!

I have a Camp knife for sale. Andy gave this to a buddy of mine several years ago, who has since died. His wife asked me to sell the knife. It's O-1 steel, Black canvas micarta scales over 1/8" natural canvas liners with an orange pinstripe and natural pins. Bullseye is natural canvas. It also comes with a kydex sheath from Fletcher Knives. It was never used or sharpened. The guy who owned it just took it out of the case and showed it to people once in a while. It does have a tiny bit of patina on the spine and a patina spot on the tip, which you can see in the pictures, just from being handled. $Sold obo tyd inside the CONUS. Email fletcherknives@comcast.net
