Fiddleback Friday - 05/23/14 - Happy Memorial Day

Surprised to see the Big Sneaky was relatively slow to go, but kinda pleased in a way. White micarta is not my thing, but I'd love to get one like that with a nice wood in the center. However, I'm not able to spend every moment of my Friday afternoons F5ing the forums, so I don't stand much chance of getting additional knives direct from Andy unless the Big Sneaky remains strangely unpopular.

You got it!

Knives left are the Maple ASP, Scorpion, and the Wasp. Still have 2-4 glasses available if interested. Thanks.

I'll take the 2014 0523 19 - CPM ASP with Midnite Blue curly Maple over black g10 with white pinstripes, SFT tang, convex on 5/32” stainless CPM 154 steel - $350
and a glass please! Thanks much

All yours Bill! Glad she's going to a good home. I'll try and get it shipped out before the week's end.

Shipping for everybody else went out yesterday.

Did ya'll get the shipping notification emails? I've received a couple of pm's from folks that didn't.

Also, there is a new tab for me to select on the usps website - "Carrier - Leave if no answer." So I select it, and hopefully they will leave your knives for you. I'm still NOT selecting Sig. Required but it keeps coming up that way, which may be because of the value that we place on the packages. I'm still looking into fyi.

I went on to the USPS tracking website and selected the "Electronic Authorized Shipment Release" and went through the whole process. Hopefully they will leave leave it in the mailbox as I requested. I will let respond back tomorrow and let you know what happens.

I find this ironic you posted this; a couple weeks ago I spent a good 20 minutes arguing on the phone with my local post office that the package did not require a signature. They still wouldn't deliver so I told them to hold it at the post office. The next day I went to pick it up...not a word about a signature, just needed the tracking info.

I received my shipping notice on Monday.

I'll be home tomorrow, so I'll test to see if your "leave if no answer" thing works.

Once you go over in certain level in value with added insurance - I think it's $200, the POST MASTER REQUIRES for the package to be signed for by the actual recipient. That's why everyone gets a signature requirement even when it's not requested by the shipper.

Ken:

I did receive a shipping notice as expected. With regard to the signature issue, so far my carrier has always required a signature. I've tried selecting the option for him to leave in my mail box but without any luck. He claims he is required to get a signature. As such I continue to fly with full radar.

Okay, good news guys. My package was just delivered to my house and did not require a signature. I guess by selecting the "Carrier - Leave if no answer" option coupled with the "Electronic Authorized Shipment Release" seems to have worked. This just saved me 2 days of agony waiting for this package :D

Couldn't test today as promised. Last tracking says it departed Atlanta. Nothing after that.

Maybe tomorrow.

Same boat here. Things shipped out of Atlanta have been rerouted through the Bermuda Triangle for me lately. Everything else gets here in 2 days. Things through Atlanta are 4 - 5.

Arrived. Unlike the last four, I didn't have to sign for the package. It was left on the stoop without a knock, so your drop down selection may have worked. The box still said "signature required" although I suppose electronic scanning of the bar code likely reveals more info...

The pint glasses are very cool, and she will love her beer cozy as much as her knives (thank you very much!).

Oh ya, the Karda ain't half bad either :)
