Ken - did last week's knives ship on Tuesday like usual? Also did they ship USPS or did you guys switch to UPS?
Thanks - trying to figure out when to be home today.
 
Shipping went out first thing Wednesday morning. I had them in my truck to take to the post office Tuesday night, but then (thankfully) remembered there were knives in the oven to pull out of heat treat. That took all my time and I missed the 6pm close at the PO. We are still working the kinks out w/ getting a regular pick up on Tuesday evenings. My apologies that shipping was delayed again this week. We'll make sure it doesn't happen next week!

If/when we switch to UPS we'll make a few announcements about it so everyone knows. That won't be anytime soon, too much going on right now to rock that boat. Also, if you have a PO Box address we'll still use the post office when needed, so no worries there.

Thank you everyone for your patience as we settle into the new shop and surroundings.

Hi. I have a question for Mr. Surls or anyone that may know the answer. I've purchased the Stingray on this sale and I was wondering what type of finish is used on the wood (I would guess some type of buffing wax). The reason for my question is that I want to avoid using any cleaning solutions that could compromise the integrity of the finish. Also, do you have any recommendations on what should be used ?

From personal experience, I would avoid isopropyl alcohol on ironwood. It has a natural resin and may or may not have been soaked in mineral oil. Warm soapy water works great.
