I love making knives for you all. Thanks to everyone for supporting Fiddleback Forge. Its an amazing feeling to do this for a living. Fiddleback Forge depends on yall, and we hope you love the tool you buy from us.
Well, Im still, obviously, hooked on the stabilized and dyed curly and quartersawn Red Oak. I have several knives in the stuff this week. I think I made my favorite Runt ever this week. It doesnt have a tapered tang, but other than that, its model standard. This weeks class of HBs is excellent. The Osage one is the perfect little fat handled thickie. Everyone has been requesting the Recluse, and I have a couple of pretty ones. This week we have bolstered scales in the batch. Plus, there is a new model this week, with a teaser pic put up at Twitter.
The BigPaw Bushcrafter is just that. Its a knife with a 4 blade, but it has a generously large 5 long handle for those with big hands. The blade is a spearpoint, which is great for just about everything. The blade is very much like my version of the Kephart, but a bit wider. I think this knife is about working.
Oh, check out the new handle configuration too. I made this up because Id yet to see anything in knives that was pink that I thought was very good looking. This is called Bubblegum configuration.
AND, we are headed after I post this thread down to Statesboro GA for the GA Custom Knifemakers Guild meeting. Judy is going to have her knives judged. Here are a couple she finished this week. I cannot express how proud I am of Adam and Judys progression. I cant wait to introduce her at the Guild meeting.
The steel this week is 3D Spalted 01 steel and CPM 154 with Fiddleback Textured Flats.
Please note that the SS is a big thicker than the measurement I order because most folks surface grind to size. So this means 1/8 thick blades are really ~0.140 thick.
Payment may be made to Paypal, or by personal check or MO. I hold all personal checks until they have cleared. This usually doesnt cause a delay because they usually clear before shipping day.
Attention!!! The paypal address is: fiddlebackpayments at att dot net. Please describe your purchase in the payment notes.
Shipping is included within the US. Ken has taken over the shipping department and we are going to be setting up a special e-mail address for all questions or concerns regarding shipping. Ill give that out when the new website is launced.
