Man, I've gotta get some of the are format bottles; sitting on a bunch of 12's but I'd love to get some 22's or magnums to hold! Oh and the new karda is slick ;)

If I ever find a magnum, It's staying unopened and on the shelf forever. Never had the fortune of finding one though.

Oh, and I love the new Karda design. More to come on this one.

Found a store in Asheville that carried a fairly wide selection of large format bottles......snapped this one shot:

Asheville? Where was the store? I'm there quite often, my brother lives there and my late grandmother's house in in Flat Rock, not far away! Beautiful country and FANTASTIC beer! Greenman Porter is my new summer season lightweight dark beer. Mmmmmmm....

Are you in Asheville often?

Will:

We spent part of an afternoon walking around the downtown area to grab lunch during a recent trip to the TN & NC Mtns. It was a wine & beer store that was located near Pritchard Park. I believe the name of the store was The Weinhaus 86 Patton Ave. There are also several others nearby that carry the large format bottles. The Asheville Wine Mart 65 Biltmore Ave, and Appalachian Vintner 745 Biltmore Ave. Funny how they name themselves as wine merchants, yet they carry quite a bit of beer as well.

You're right about it being beautiful country and the local interest in good beer makes it all that more enjoyable. When we used to live in Roswell, GA we used to make the trip several times a year to catch the different seasons. Now that we're in SW Florida its more of a hike, so not that often.

Peter

Jules, those are some awesome views, and how can you go wrong with an "extra strong" brew?

I don't have a good view in mine, but I'll raise an extra strong in toast with you.

It is good to see the recognition that the 3/32" Raptor deserves. But, you might be turning it into a lush.

I'll drink to that (any excuse)!

Nice Josh. I hope the recommendation was to your liking.

Getting the one of the chainsaws ready last Saturday evening. Hunter just needed a slight strop to be ready for action again.

For sure Nathan, I actually didn't start drinking until after college, and I had my first beer in Germany being taught how to drink beer by Germans :D. I think the polestar gives decent Germna pilsners a run for their money. Perhaps it was a bit out of season for it, but enjoyed it nonetheless. Thanks again!

Cheers Josh. I spent some time traveling in Germany for work, especially in the Walldorf and Heidelberg area. When there, I'd stay at a little local hotel run by the brother of a co-worker. They had the nicest little biergarten. No one spoke English, and the only channel on the TV that was in english was MTV. My love of meat and beer was honed during those times. :)

Similar experiences for me as well. I spent couple of weeks a year for about three years, with my first job out of college, traveling between Frankfurt and Fulda getting trained (as the company I worked for was a US subsidiary of a German company). I loved my experiences there, my colleagues there were so giving and eager to share their culture. Have great memories of biergarten, watching Euro finals in English pubs full of English (they were from Liverpool, so I couldn't understand them much better than the Germans :D ), touring old cities, learning to how to pronounce German bier names (e.g. Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen), etc. Interesting how my younger and immature self went there with preconceived notions, and experienced a whole new side of the culture. In the end, we're all people with ups and downs I guess :)

Hey NoFair, great stuff. How do you like those STIHL files? Been meaning to get a new set of bastard files for reprofiling old axe heads, but can't seem to find anything that's made in USA (options available are Chinese or Mexican....nothing against those countries, but trying to find something that'll last).
