That Arete IS so sweet, nice score Hasco. That's one profile I have yet to pick up, but every time I see one the urge grows.

Thanks gentlemen. There is something really special about this arete. I have mostly decided to stick with synthetics but I couldn't resist this one. It is hard to put it into words but it feels like it is in a different class than my other fiddlebacks. It is my first A2 knife, so it will be interesting to see how I prefer it to the 01. I am sure I will post some more pics soon.

Bartlax - I have an arete 1/8" 01 sft, 5/32" 01 sft, 1/8" 01 sft scandi, 5/32" cpm sft and now a 5/32" A2 tapered. I love the arete profile. It was the first fiddleback I set my eyes on when I decided to get one and it is the one I keep coming back to. It just works well and is comfortable for me to use.

Hasco, do you prefer the 5/32" to the 1/8" or vice versa? I seem to prefer my 5/32 FBs, though I have a nice 1/8" nessmuk that is dazzling in the kitchen.

For each model my preference is different. I am going to leave my scandi out of it, but in general my 5/32" sft 01 is my favorite arete in action so far ( I haven't used my new one enough to comment). I like 1/8" in some models but for an all around woods knife I think 5/32" is my sweet spot.

I am really digging the Gauchos and have been holding on for one in CPM 154. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any stainless ones since the first thread

Group shot of my users.... Minus the KPH(because it's too awesome IMHO) ;)

2x s35vn
1x A2
2x CPM154
The rest O1
