I'll chime in as the awkward sod now and say I haven't had any issues with comfort whilst using my Kephart with its tapering tang. I've worked with the knife for long enough periods for any problems to show up, none have:) Kudos to Andy I guess for shaping his handles so well. I do think the slightly deeper handle pattern of the Kephart helps too by offering a bit more for your pinkie to wrap around.

Sam

Oh, I didn't say I don't like the tapered tang smaller knives for carving...I don't have one yet :) I just know for a fact that I do like the full tang Kephart for carving. I have every intention of finding out how I feel about a tapered tang version when I can swing it :)

It's a shame we don't all live just round the corner, it would be nice to try out our various fiddlebacks over a beer or two...:)

Thanks guys! I do love the tapered tang as well. Took my Bushfinger out again today for more familiarization. ;) I still don't have a favorite. Love them all!

A few food preps and cooked steak cuts each, also a couple outings in the bush:

Yes it is, but probably best if no more than a beer or two...so things don't get messy :)

Nice patinas developing, and damn that steak looks good!

Thanks,

Yes it's the Kephart, 1/8" with tapered tang. The wood is Macassar Ebony and is polishing nicely with use:)

Sounds like promotion to me;)

I suppose...but damn, it's hard for me to not at least sort of promote a maker like Andy who both makes beautiful cutlery, and loves it when I take it out and actually use it rather than freaking out on it like some have :)

Hear, hear, well said.

One is on loan to check out, and some have gotten dirtier since this pic...but I'm not at liberty to share those :)

Seeing as everyone in here are fans of Fiddleback, I thought it might be a good place to throw out a piece of Fiddleback art for you. Andy, forgive me if you don't want me to share this but I thought your supporters would appreciate it. This was a concept for shirts I'm working on for Andy. It didn't make the final cut, but it still turned out cool IMHO.
