Sweet pics love that blade. Is that a Fenix light?

welcome to the forum Kepha.

bushboot about to clean up some bushrats

and done

I've had this bushboot for a few years now. Picked it up from one of the first batches from knivesshipfree.
Great belt knife not to big not to small. Has done many a shop, garden, camp and trail task for me. A very practical edc i think. thanks andy.

man I do like the lines of the Bushboot … every time I see one I like it.

The Bushboot is an awesome little knife. I liked mine, but the wife sure as hell wasn't getting my Recluse :D

hey mistwalker, that Lacewood Sneaky Pete came today - what a great knife! Man that was a lucky grab. The 'serpentine' handle and choke-ability promise to make it a great bush and detail knife … and possibly a decent slicer. When I get my Bushfinger back, I'll try to decide which I like better, but they are both excellent knives with great "feel". Those two, along with my Bushboot have me pretty well covered, I think. Taking the Bushboot with me on a Canoe/Camping trip with the Scouts his weekend … can't wait!

That lace wood SP is gorgeous. I am definitely going to get one later, I have a project in mind that design will be perfect for. I am holding out for the right grind and the right handle material, and may even go with stainless...though steel type isn't reall as important for what I have in mind. The Bushboot should be perfect for that. It's a great size for when you want enough knife, but one not so large it is distracting. Now that the wife has my old one I may go for another in 5/32 like I had before I traded Bushboots with a friend. I had a feeling that one would end up being Lisa's, she learned rather quickly she isn't a big scandi fan. The tapered 1/8 convex is a perfect fit for her. I think the townies here aren't sure what to make of us, we still get funny looks when we go into a local diner and then pull out our own knives off our belts to cut our meat with :)

Bit of a grail moment for me.

I'd been mighty tempted by Andy's recent offerings in Osage Orange and have been waiting for the right Hiking Buddy to appear. So, when a fellow forumite offered this one on the exchange I couldn't resist. Being ground from 3/32 as well really clinched the deal!

I've convexed the edge as well, now it sliced beautifully.

It came with a lovely RLO sheath but I've taken to carrying it in my pocket with this slip sheath for pocket knives. I like the idea and will fashion a proper pocket sheath along similar dimensions soon.

I'm really taken with this one:)

I like that Hiking Buddy avoidspam. Pretty shots too! Andy's Osage Orange and Natural always turn out great. I have one with bocote and 3/32 scandi. It's so lightweight I can't even tell it's there.

I still occasionally kick myself for not picking up one of the Kardas Andy had at Blade a couple of years ago. It's sort of lower priority now, but I am still holding out for a stainless and G10 one for neck knife :)

Vance, I like the handle on that Karda! Mine is plain 'ol black micarta but she still manages to get some love. :)

i like them thin.....except my camp knife

As a general rule, I don't really like them thin. This is the first knife I have had that was thinner than 1/8 in quite a few years, and only went down to 1/8 a few years back. At one time, before 5/32 was easier found, 3/16 was about as thin as I would go, and the old SOG S1 Bowie I carried for over a dozen years was right at 5/16" thick with a hollow grind. For a knife I expect to put to rough use, pretty much any knife I carry to the woods for work, I still tend to opt for 3/16 much of the time, but have come to trust Andy's 5/32 for even some pretty hard use...lol, harder than he would likely want to hear about :o

I think a 1/8" is plenty for a smaller knife that doesn't see extremely hard use (chopping, battoning). I'd say 5/32 is great for a larger knife that's used more roughly, since all my experience with knives >3/16" shows that they start slowly losing slicing/cutting ability with more width. Maybe I just haven't used one of Andy's thicker knives yet...
