Wow!!! I just received my bushcraft karda with antique westinghouse micarta and I have to say not only is it beautiful, it feels simply amazing in the hand. It must be the most comfortable smaller blade I have ever held.

My enthusiasm at being able to post here has overtaken my ability to take a decent picture.

McVeyMac has graciously loaned me a Kephart so I can "kick the tires a bit." (Thanks again, man!) It has been an invaluable experience.

It's a knotty piece of wood, so the notches are uneven. I also haven't done this kind of thing in quite a while, so even though it looks like crap, I'm pretty pleased.

COME ON FRIDAY!!!!

Nicely done man. I LOVE the Kepart, and have wanted a tapered one for a while. I am super excited about the one I just snagged in the Friday thread.

That was a great knife, Mist. I have come back to the FF post just to look at the Kephart you snagged and that Bushcrafter. Both are incredible knives. I can't wait to see your pics of your new addition.

Steve O, Nut, hasco: been awhile since I've been in here. Good stuff.

Nice work Michael! Kephart is a great knife and that try stick looks really good.

Gotta make sure the Hunter is up for this week's trip. (In other words, I wanted an excuse to go outside and play).

Thurin that hunter is spectacular. What do you use to get such a high polish on you knives?
Thanks
Mac

Thanks Mac. I use Flitz on this Hunter. It sees a lot of kitchen use and I've wanted to keep it patina free.

Thanks! It's funny. When I first held the Kephart, I thought "Gee, that's pointier than I imagined from the pics. Maybe I ought to get something less pointy." But the more I've actually USED the thing, the more I've become convinced it really is the ultimate carver for woodcraft tasks.

Of course, I still might end up with a different model based on what comes through the Fiddleback pipeline....
