Fiddleback User Pics

So today I got out and messed with my knives and wanted to share some pics. The knives are osage nessmuk which I got from Martin, a real gem of a knife. When I first started my fiddleback hunt it started with a nessmuk in osage. Now I have one that will never leave. My other little gem I have for you is a black ash burl hiking buddy that Martin picked up for me at blade. A true gem if you ask me. The burl is outrageous. I really like orange liners. Accompanying both my blades is my Hudson Bay axe. I got it unfinished from best made company and stained it orange then painted the striping on it. The upper has boiled linseed oil on it then a coating of beeswax. Enjoy! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1403976993.021676.jpg

Great pics Viral! Two very handsome knives. The axe looks great too!

Just received my bishop and comp cutter yesterday. Had some time today to take some pics.
All I can say is WOW! Both came exceptionally sharp.
Comp cutter looks bigger but feels lighter than the bishop. Very light in the hands being such a big knife.
The Bishop has more forward weight, makes a great chopper.
Handle on Comp cutter is little beefier, but both are very comfortable. Since, I have a medium size hand, I would prefer the Bishop handle a little more.
It's the first time I got to handle a herringbone burlap scale. It's out of this world. The fibers in the herringbone are thicker than the regular burlap.
Hope you guys enjoy the pics! This is the first time I ever posted anything.

Thanks for posting those comparison pictures. Rick just made me a piggyback Bishop and Asp sheath that is in the mail. I will post some pictures of the respective sheaths and knives once it arrives.

Nice setup Walt; Rick has done several pieces like this for me and never ceases to amaze! You will most certainly like that rig!!

Yea, he told me he did a piggyback for you, and he sent me some pictures to help me make up my mind. He put a 3 strap MOLLE on the back to attach to a pack as well. I am hoping the rig proves to be as versatile as we all have tried to design into it. I already have the hook to hang it on, so I can just sling it around my shoulder on my way out the door.

Starting some late night analysis of the Sneaky Pete:

Had a wedding to do yesterday, so I've not had much "front porch" time this holiday weekend. Still managed to play a bit on the porch and in the kitchen...

Looks good Michael, on both accounts. Nice hole through stick and the food prep looks great.

Since the Hunter didn't get to do it's Camp Knife duties this last trip, I thought I should at least bring it back to it's normal state and we'll give it another shot later.

Lots of patina to get off from kitchen chores and it was DRY. We're pretty much desert here, regardless of how green stuff looks, so handles take lots of care.

Thanks, man! I think I'm getting a bit better. Can't wait for the Bushcrafter to get here so we can get acquainted.

I love that hunter. Fantastic spalting. Great color combo on the handle.

Picked some thimble berries at grandma's house. I thought they were a nice contrast to this white scandi karda.

It is a nice worker and came with a sheath I was told was made by mister Roy himself.

Did I mention it is a 4 finger karda?
