I hope folks realize how fortunate we are to have Steven helping out this year. His contacts in the industry as well as his taste and knowledge will come into play and I know we will end up with a better knife due to his efforts.

Heck, Gus.....I'm blushing.:o

Everyone just wants the same thing at the end of the day.....a really good, unique Traditional knife for the best possible price. I'll help to make that happen, but wouldn't want to do the whole thing myself....been a pleasure working on this with you so far.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Still voting for the Barlow, although I'm beginning to think I need (Yeah, right;)) a swayback jack sometime. The long bolster on a Barlow has traditionally been used for distinctive markings, and that to me makes it a natural for a BF logo, especially for those who don't like etched or engraved blades. Whatever the choice, I'd like to see some distinctive blade features like a cut swedge and long pull. Carbon steel, sawcut or jigged bone.

I voted swayback - looks like a darn good thing the barlow is my second choice! LOL!

I voted for Swayback, but in the end I will what ever is chosen. Too bad we can not get GEC interested in the Swayback! Actually either from them would be terrific!

I voted Barlow; still my first choice, hopefully with two large blades!!
I will participate if it's a swayback!

The Case Forum knife this year had to have a minimum order just below 200 units before considering making the knife, unless we do have some ins here.

We'll see :D. There are some other guys "pushin' da swayback" for us. It really would not be a bad pattern for anyone not making it to think about.;)

Just like they do in Bastidville; vote early and vote often.

I voted barlow because I think that we will have more options to choose from when it comes to designing the knife. I think a barlow pattern with a large clip point and a large spear point in carbon steel with brown sawcut bone scales and BF logo on the bolsters would be hard to beat.

I voted swayback, but understanding the problems with having one made, I could probably go for the Barlow as well.

I'd love to see carbon steel (is that really even a question with this group :D ), and natural handle material, I like the idea of the smooth white or tan bone, but please guys, no yellow. I know it's popular with Case, but geez I hate the yellow. White, black, brown, smooth, jigged, sawcut, all good, just the *shudder* yellow.
I also really like the idea of the bolster etch or stamp on the Barlow, if we can get that done, that would be very cool, say maybe just BF fairly big in a classic script, then #, or year or what not on the blade( I'm not huge on etches on the blade actually, but it seems to be a tradition in this case). That'd be a great look. Counter to some of the other folks, if we do go with the Barlow, my preference would be for either a single blade, or 1 big blade, clip or warny, and one small, a pen or sheepsfoot. Just some thoughts.

I'll take one of each. :D

I'd prefer a Barlow, but will not turn my back on a swayback.

I voted for the Barlow also but I will order one irrespective of the style.

I started loving slippies in 2008 and so far my slipjoint collection consists of two!!!
Therefore, any style you chose is alright by me!!!!:)

Voted for barlow. D2, jigged bone and forum knife marking on the bolster would make my day. However, count me in even if the vote goes the other way.

I voted Swayback but will participate whichever way it goes. Thanks to those taking the lead on this.

I'd still prefer the Swayback, but I might be in for a Barlow if it specs out to my liking. Most Barlows are too short to interest me.

I told myself I was not going to buy any more knives this year..... I voted Swayback :) I'd buy whichever we go with though.

This sucks not havin' a computer, I feel like I'm missin' out on sumthin', (oh well 2 new lap tops on the way) I knew the second round would even the vote out:D let's hope not too close.

Barlow would be nice, it has the weight so ya can feel a knife in your pocket instead of stickin' yer hand in yer pocket to keep checkin', more of a jeans wearin' type of knife.
