So I sent in my sng dgg for a tuneup back at the beginning of August. Had some lock rock and blade play. Didn't hear anything back which is fine. Sent a follow up email in September. Didn't hear back. Got the knife back a few weeks ago on Sep 30. It was better but still some blade play but it's a well used knife and I have 6 Striders so I figure it will be my beater.

Then I notice that the LBS is not there. Sigh. So I sent an email again and actually got a response this time next day from Josh asking for my address. No apology or real customer service but who cares right? As long as I get my parts back.

Today I sent a follow up as I never received the parts or an email back.

It's a bit disappointing. I love my Striders but their customer service is just terrible.

It is dumbfounding how a company of their production capacity has one guy dedicated to doing pretty much everything (Josh). Unbelievably disorganized.

Op, that sucks. I know I wouldn't be happy if I sent a knife in for play and it came back still having play. Hopefully it works out.

I only own one of their knives, an SnG. Cool knife but has insane lock stick, as I was warned about. I emailed for assistance 4 times over the course of a month and never received a response. Crap organization in my opinion. Though I guess by sticking their heads in the sand, they were not obliged to offer any information or advice. :thumbdn:

I have been collecting knives for 25+ years and I have never seen a knife company in this price range with so many inherent quality issues. It's almost like people accept it as part of owning one. Amazes me.

Pretty much the way it goes for them and the best part is; people seem to like it that way. ;):p

I'm not taking up for Strider because I only have one of their knives, but the lock stick on it was the easiest fix of any ti frame lock I've owned, that had that issue. A little pencil lead on the blade surface where it mates to the lock had it working fast. I've had other knives take 100's putting it on, opening and closing cycles to fix the problem. My SMF only stuck at first and hasn't since. It has very good lockup to this day.

try this

Did you call, and did they answer if you did ?

Please let us know how this works out.
Not that you will, but some start a thread such as this and never come back to let us know if the problem was resolved.
People need to know how companies handle these issues, so please let us know when you find something out.
Thanks, and good luck.

I have owned many Striders over the years..Great Knives..BUT simply for the reason and proof of POOOOOOOOOOOOR
customer service..Makes me VERY VERY apprehensive to say the least to buy another.
FAR too many other outstanding companies with stellar Customer Service..

This is a thread about customer service.

Your comment, while perhaps 100% accurate, is irrelevant. If every customer could fix problems with the Strider knives on their own, that says zero about Strider customer service.

It's relevant to the poster if it helps him. Lock stick is often an easy problem to remedy.

I'm torn myself. I think I've decided to wait for the mini kwaiken! And see how that reviews before buying!
