**** FINALLY SHIPPING THEM - 2009 Forum Knives update

This puppy found its way to Tejas this morning. Gus and STeven......two good men.

Glad you got it, Rob, and glad you are posting again.....sorry for being an ass to you, it was not deserved.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Quick question, is there are pattern available with these two blade styles or was this part of the special design for the forum knives? I am loving the blade shapes and wondering if there was a standard production knife with these two.

It was a design by committee with Steven at the helm guiding us in the right direction.
The touches of the final blade design, the NS liners and the tang stamps are things on the knife that are there because he put a lot of effort into this project. I would let him herd my goats anytime. :D.

When you are doing one of these projects, we have found it is best to put the pattern up for a vote, discuss some other aspects and handle material and then turn it over to the organizers to finish up the task. We have been very fortunate in that Steven has strong connections as well as strong knowledge of design as well as what makes a good knife. Next year's looks just as promising, if not more so, since Charlie, Mike and Eric have stepped up. We used to do this with one person as the organizer, but now we have grown so much that having 3 members organizing and herding us is the way to go. We have all seen Charlie's exquisite taste as well the character of Mike and Eric. We are in excellent hands for 2010.

Edited to add.

Yup, first time Queen has made this pattern with these two blade styles, and we are pretty sure first time both tang stamps have been used on the same knife.

Received mine today. Thanks to Steven and Gus, and everyone who made this possible! This is a nice knife, one of the nicest overall in my meager collection. It's sitting in my pocket now, having displaced my Case Texas Jack. I also find it to be an excellent size: The handle is just right, and the blades are meaty. Even my non-knife-nut office mates liked it.

Thanks again!

P.S. Gus, I never received a PM/VM or email, but that's OK now... :D

Oh dang, must have slipped up. Sure hope I only slipped up once.:).

Just got mine, wow it's amazing. thanks Gus and Steven great job on this project. not only is it sweet looking it's also very sharp. thanks again Larry.

I just received both of mine today. They are both very impressive, well worth the price and wait. :)

Received mine this PM.. Thanks Gus and Steven, and all that was part of the 2009 BFC Knife...

The color of the stag is the whiter hue, my camera skills are poor at best. Thanks Gus, and Steven!

I am in a quandary. I always blathered on and on about having no safe queens......I thought I was a real Joe Stud saying all my knives are users....... I as of yet cannot say that about this one. It is just very special in many ways...........

I just got home from a loooooooong day at work.

What is that sitting on the kitchen counter?.....A package from Gus. In it, one of the most gorgeous pocket knives, along with some of the nicest stag, I've ever seen.

To both Steven and Gus,
It can't be expressed in words what a sincere joy it is to have such high quality people like both of you to share our knife collecting hobby with.

As was already expressed by so many others here, thank you both for taking on such an extreme chore as to get these truly fantastic knives made and delivered to us.:cool::thumbup::cool::thumbup:

EDITED TO ADD:
Also, a very special thanks to the more-than-generous person who gave up a huge load of beautiful stag to make these knives so much more special.

Every part of this knife was:

By Design!. Including the blades and the way the blades are are cut..

-- The Blade steel type = D-2 and special process.

-- The Blade design, swedges, pulls, size, ect.

-- The Stag covers.

-- The Barlow Pattern.

-- The Bolsters-'Long'.

-- The Etches, Roman Numerals on the bolsters.

-- The special Tang Stamps.

This knife was voted on via the old democratic American way by our Folksy Forum in the 'Traditional - Fixed - Folding' sub-forum throughout the year of 2009 as we have been doing every year here since 2006.. Welcome to the finest sub-forum on BF.com and the planet!

As per previous reports, top-notch in every way. Gus, STeven, and the stag man are all due a great big thumbs up:thumbup:. Thanks for a truly outstanding forum knife.
[As usual, cat fur included in scan to show size].

She arrived today, and she's beautiful. It's already a favorite, and I've only had it for an hour! The combination of the blade configuration, steel, and good looks means this is going to be carried often.

Thanks to all involved in this process, and I hope to someday be able to return the favor to the community.
